Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m the founder of Porlogie, and I wanted to share the story of why I built it and how it works.
The Problem: The "Zapier Tax" on Non-Technical Users
Over the past few years, I’ve worked with multiple small business owners, local clinics, and e-commerce sellers. Almost every single one of them relies on spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel) to keep track of their day-to-day operations.
But keeping those sheets updated is a nightmare:
The Manual Grind: They or their employees spend hours every week copy-pasting customer booking info, e-commerce orders, and refund settlements into sheets.
The Technical Barrier: When I suggest tools like Zapier or Make, their eyes glaze over. Triggers, action blocks, JSON mapping, and webhook payloads are simple for developers, but incredibly overwhelming for a non-technical clinic manager or e-commerce shop owner.
I realized there is a massive gap in the market: People don't want to build pipelines. They just want their spreadsheet automated.
The Solution: Porlogie — "Your spreadsheets, automated intelligently."
Porlogie is a universal automation platform designed to make data synchronization completely effortless.
Instead of configuring maps, triggers, and fields, user onboarding is simple:
Quick Connect: Link your app (Shopify, Calendly, Stripe, etc.) or paste your API keys.
Describe in Plain English: Simply type what you want to automate. For example: “Track all Shopify orders. Highlight orders over $200 in green. If items are returned, calculate net loss in the Net Profit column.”
Validate & Test: Run a simulation using simple text or JSON payload triggers to verify the AI's logic mapping in real-time.
Instant Hosted Sheets: Porlogie dynamically provisions a dedicated, live online sheet viewer right inside the dashboard. Data syncs instantly as events happen, complete with interactive formula bars (
fx) and one-click CSV exports.
Where the Product is At Right Now
The platform is fully functional in standalone/mock mode, handling real-time database inputs, API credential validation checks, and automatic spreadsheet generation.
I'm getting ready to transition the backend from simulated triggers to full n8n automation pipelines and hook up Paddle for subscription management.

The Flow: Does a plain-language prompt for spreadsheet generation solve a real pain point for you or your clients?
Features: What integrations would be a dealbreaker for you if they were missing? (e.g. QuickBooks, Calendly, TikTok Shop).
The Design: I went with a premium dark-green theme to make the spreadsheet management feel professional yet modern.

The ‘plain English instead of Zapier config’ angle is exactly right non technical business owners don’t want to learn tools, they want outcomes. The real question is how you’re planning to reach clinic managers and e-commerce sellers next week at launch. That audience doesn’t hang out on IH.
The bigger opportunity may not be replacing Zapier—it may be replacing the moment people realize they need automation at all. If users still have to think in terms of workflows, you've only lowered the technical barrier. If they can think entirely in terms of business outcomes, you've created a very different category. I'd be interested to hear which side you're seeing in early testing.
