Wisegrid

Wisegrid is a spreadsheet-native work management app, launched into a category owned by giants. Cold start distribution plan: never fight a SERP we cannot win.

The rule: we only target keywords where a site with domain rating 40 or lower already ranks in the top 10. That site is an existence proof at our authority level. Keyword difficulty scores flatter young domains; the weakest incumbent does not lie. We mined the organic keywords of every small site punching above its weight and validated about 200 targets this way.

Every target gets a page that is genuinely the best answer: templates that are live spreadsheets in the browser (edit a cell, the variance recalculates), free .xlsx downloads with no email gate, question-shaped headings with the answer in the first sentence, FAQ schema.

8 weeks in: pages crawled within days, first impressions within 2 weeks of each publish, niche pain-point pages entering at positions 4 to 15, and AI assistants fetching our pages at answer time (visible in the access logs) with the first assistant-referred signups already in.

Nothing viral. Everything compounding. Next: 10 more validated pages and the first conversion data from organic.
