I'm a UX Designer and entrepreneur and run The Office for Visual Affairs, multidisciplinary design studio in New York. I also co-authored the Community Canvas a framework for community building. Previously I worked at the New York Times and at Google's Creative Lab in New York. After that I co-founded online retailer caseable and joined Urtak, a public opinion tech startup. I also created Float, an app that lets you explore your city through stories about people and places. I grew up in Ethiopia, Thailand, Egypt and Germany and studied art & design at the Cooper Union.
