Hey Indie Hackers,
I'm Levon, founder of Zeroqode, the #1 no-code product creator and developer.
Today we are announcing the Best Startup Idea Contest and are giving away our premium no-code templates to the winners.
PRIZE DISTRIBUTION
- The winner can choose any template from our collection (top templates sell at $377)
- The 2nd runner up can choose any template up to $270
- The 3rd runner up can choose any template up to $200
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Simply comment on this article describing your idea of a product or startup that you are planning to build (something that you haven't build yet).
HOW CAN YOU USE OUR NO-CODE TEMPLATES
Our no-code templates are not simply design mockups but rather finished, fully functional, responsive web applications, mostly mimicking the functionality of well-known websites or apps. These templates can be modified without code to launch any product faster and with less costs involved.
For example we launched our side project - Postman Collections in just under 2 weeks building it on our Product Hunt Clone Template
Anything about these templates can be changed and modified: design, functionality, database structure, etc.
Also, apps built on our templates can be converted into native iOS & Android apps using the Zeroqode Native Apps solution.
WHAT OUR TEMPLATES ARE BUILT ON
All our templates are built on Bubble โ the most advanced no-code framework. When you build an app based on our template it will be hosted on Bubble servers. So you won't have to worry about hosting, database backups, maintenance and all that boring stuff :)
HOW THE WINNERS WILL BE DECIDED
We didn't want to decide the winners ourselves in order not to be deemed biased. Instead we asked Emmanuel Straschnov to be the jury and decide the winners. Emmanuel is the co-founder of Bubble, whom you might know from this interview with Indie Hackers.
Emmanuel will consider not only the number of upvotes that your idea receives from the community, but will also assess various aspects that define the potential of your idea.
WHAT'S THE DEADLINE
The deadline to submit your idea is 25th of January, and the winners will be announced by the end of January (in the comments to this article).
HOW TO START
So go ahead โ post your comments and share the link to this article to get as many upvotes as possible! :)
TLDR
Zeroqode is hosting a Best Startup idea contest that can win you $377 worth of no-code Bubble templates. Post your idea in the comments by 25th Jan. The winner will be decided by Bubble co-founder, Emmanuel Straschnov.
Best of luck :)
Levon,
Founder @ Zeroqode
Problem: You're up at 1am with a brilliant idea and you need feedback/validation before investing time and effort into something potentially nobody wants.
Solution: You use the IdeaZap bot on Facebook Messenger to pitch your idea to a community of entrepreneurs, and receive instant votes and feedback.
Not only that, but you can pitch your idea to people who are subscribed to specific topics (ex. Web Design), validating your idea via potential end users.
@JJColeman I love the idea and signed up to be informed about when it launches

Idea: Startup news, events and related content in 80 words or lesser
Concept: A successful entrepreneur is one who effectively manages time. Spending a lot of time to stay updated on latest happenings in the startup world is common.
The idea is to build an app like Inshorts but solely for startup news.
Each story will be presented with an image, headline and the information presented in under 80 words. Swipe up to change stories and swipe left to read the article from the original source.
The app is focused at entrepreneurs, founders, VCs, CXOs and startup enthusiasts
Nice idea. I started working on it.
Thanks

Great idea, I'd subscribe in a heartbeat!

Problem: You're out of ideas for your next startup and need some inspiration
Solution: Use your current startup to launch a competition where others submit their ideas => PROFIT ๐ฐ๐
Idea: Adblock for live TV.
Problem: TV ads are loud and annoying.
Solution: An app that runs in the background of your Android TV to detect ads playing in realtime. Once detected it replaces ads with better content (e.g. short music videos or podcast snippets).
Example: Watch the NFL game as normal. During each adbreak the app temporarily connects you to a live voice-chat room with other fans watching the same thing... A brief and friendly discussion occurs.
Tagline: Make your Smart TV commercial-free.
Integrate it with Google Home/Echo/Apple Air Pod so when an ad comes on and a smart speaker hears it, it automatically starts the app if it doesn't catch the ad.
Yeah, that'd be neat. It might actually be enough to run entirely on the smart speaker! I will check out their sdk to see how much freedom is granted to always listen and adjust the TV accordingly.
I think it could be vialable if you share a part of the benefice you take from the users to the content holder ..
Many business models to consider with this. Companies might also find new monetization schemes on their own - once the home owners problem of hearing unwanted noises is solved.
The question is: How much would the average joe pay to block every ad on every channel in realtime?
Most would be willing to pay $0.
People generally put an irrationally high priority on "free," are willing to put up with a fair amount for it โฆย think AOL, Facebook, broadcast TV, web ads. Those who don't have already gone elsewhere or are on their way there.
True, of course I'm thinking freemium first. Those leaving because of ads could come back to Live TV if there is free adblock on popular channels. I also noticed that during sales some Hulu customers are willing to pay an extra $6/mo just to get into the adfree tier.
I did not notice your pseudo, your definitely made for those kind of idea haha ! You can start with the price for publishing ads and you divide by the numbers of users. And then you have approximatively a price.
Hi. I'm just here to steal these ideas and profit.
Me too.
Ideia: the inverse of the current stores! Instead of looking for what you want, you simply make a post of the product you want to buy, say its conditions, for example: blue sofa, for 4 people, that delivered in my house Saturday afternoon, up to $ 300. And receive several proposals from qualified sellers with your request.
How to make money with that? Selling automated messages and notifications to sellers :)
edit: I made the design last year! https://www.behance.net/gallery/56262157/Website-Startup-Beezi

Idea: A platform to hire a personal shopper who will do your online shopping
Concept: Whenever I'm looking to buy something online, I waste a lot of time scrolling through the results, ending up overspending or not buying anything at all.
With this platform, people will be able to hire a personal shopper and tell them their requirements following which the personal shopper will manually search and present 3 options for you to buy, based on your requirement.
Hey all, i know we promised to announce the winner by end of Jan, but we need a few more days to do that. Please bear with us. I will post the results here soon. Thanks!
Problem: Small businesses that operate in the legal industry are forced to purchase a full case management platform to capture client information.
Solution: A monthly subscription to cloud based intake forms the small businesses can subscribe to. They'll get access to pre-built custom intake forms or create one themselves. Going to start in the legal industry, that's what I'm most familiar with, then expand to other industry that require client or patient info gathering.
Problem- Students and staff at high schools are looking for ways to provide real-world experience through project-based learning that motivates stakeholders and prepares them for the future.
Solution- A tool where students and faculty can suggest potential courses, projects, and learning opportunities to build up a want or a need in order to create and facilitate curriculum based on passion and interest. Prefered opportunities rise to the top and can be discussed in order to facilitate a way to make them a reality.
Concept- Schools get a product hunt-esque platform to suggest a course or learning opportunity to be voted upon by participants. This would also act as a first step in the curriculum development, professional development, and real-world learning in the classroom. By gauging interest early on, a school has the ability to pair motivated students with capable faculty and start creating applicable learning opportunities for people to participate in.
Scale-
Once basic functioning is created and tested, you can scale the functionality to allow mentors to create common classrooms, curriculum, and assessments to be consumed and validated and that can be placed on the high school transcript as extended learning opportunities that have the potential to diversify students from their applicant pools in their respective future endeavors.
Problem: There are customers on the internet that don't want businesses to succeed. They actively work against businesses to try to make them fail. These people are known as trolls.
Solution: Have a way for businesses to rate customers! Track via email/name/username/phone number/address combination and rate customer based on past transactions. Cross reference information from any business that signs up. Name it something catchy like custometer.com or rottencustomers.com or something like that. Then, via an API integration, you can automatically mark amazing customers (or flag potential troublemakers) in your system.
I'm both shocked that this doesn't already exist and terrified of the black mirror-esque implications of something like that.
How can you genuinely separate an angry custome from a "troll"?
Tracking people because they've been overtly critical and punishing them sounds terrible.
I was mostly being satirical, but if we were taking this idea seriously, the fault would always lie with the obvious problem. People. It's the same problem that review systems of all kinds have.
How do you stop people from leaving bad reviews for PS4 systems (for example) when they're only leaving the bad review because they love Xbox or Switch systems?
This site, like all those that came before it, would have to rely on the honor system. And, of course, having some kind of algorithm that tries to even out those random, extraneous reviews that would be put in simply to hurt someone's reputation.
My idea is based on the current situation in my country, it's an African country. The way information(news, jobs, ads) is done is using newspapers mostly, but most young people have smartphones and don't usually buy newspapers so meaning they don't have access to the information they would like to have like job advertisements, the app is to build a mobile app that collects news, discount coupons, ads and jobs listings in the app, then users can just use smartphones to access this information.
As for how the idea will make money, companies in my country advertise mostly through newspapers, tv etc and this process is takes time and is costly, so we will have a web client that lets them post their ads(jobs, discounts) which will then be displayed in the app and users in turn can access this information.
This idea could change how information is accessed in my country and can be polished to meet the demands of the young generation with smartphones.
The template best for this is the PRODUCT HUNT CLONE.
Thank you
which country is it?
hi All, we just announced the winners, sorry for a slight delay.. Check out this article to find out who the winners are :) And thanks all for participating!! https://www.indiehackers.com/@Levon/and-the-377-zeroqode-template-goes-to-80c7f364e4
Problem: You need $2000 or more worth of dental treatment and you have no dental insurance. How do you efficiently "shop" for the best value with respect to both cost and quality of dental care?
Solution: You go to the DentalMarket where you are able to anonymously post an evidence-based dental record (from thedentalintegra.com) that transforms your record into a "virtual patient." On this site dentists provide you objective information about their practice and skills (further qualifying them as to your needs). Because you have been virtualized, they will be able to understand your treatment issues and render a treatment plan with a fee estimate. This website is an dutch auction-like site. Estimates are essentially blind bids, resulting in a system that creates a transparent market for dental care. Good service is rewarded with good reviews... helping to market practices that serve their patients well.
My product StartupCrux, a platform for Startups is what Roots are for Trees and a Foundation is for a Building/House.
Founders and Idea Persons will need this
Problem: Photographers or other people that need a booking system and need custom forms with custom add-ons that are charged.
Solution: Bult a platform with a back end CRM to keep track of clients and appointments and then built a front end page that has the services on that matches the website that is being the services.
sounds very interesting, but I think I don't fully understand it. Basically like a customized fullservice booking system solution for those people?
This sounds great, like a super simple CRM. Did you already build it?
No, I did not yet. But it is a project I would like to soon.
Problem: You're an aspiring actor/standup comedian living in a small city where film auditions are next to non existent.
Solution: Online & mobile platform where you record a small clip of 15 seconds or less reading part of a script.
People can then like and follow who they really enjoy seeing. Those who have community support will be receiving the attention they deserve, giving them the opportunity to get noticed by potential recruiters.
I think that's called youtube.
Don't think Youtube was specifically made for it, though.
Idea: A simple way to make double opt-in email intros that saves you hours every month.
Problem: Introducing two people via email takes a lot of time if you want to do it in the most polite/relationship-saving way (aka double opt-in, as in first asking both parties for permission to make the intro).
We built a quick landing page at https://introjoy.com โ you can enter your email to get early access :)
Target market: Regular gym goers who live in cold climates.
Upvote if you leave your gym clothes in your car in the middle of winter. YA, me too. You get to the gym, reach inside your bag and it feels like you're sticking your hand in the back of the freezer for that Haagen daz ice cream that keeps eluding you.
Putting them on is even worse. Plus if you're a dude, well... You get the shrivels. Straight up.
I propose a dope gym bag lined to keep clothes warm while it sits in -30 degrees overnight. I could use your templates to make this product fly. P.S This also may be a terrible idea. **holds breath and taps ente..
I live in Alabama, but it's 23 degrees here today (and it's snowed for most of the week). I haven't been to the gym at all this week because of the cold weather. If I could have not cold clothes, that'd be amazing.
You could get one of those pizza delivery boxes that maintain a certain temperature! ๐
Idea: A platform to find the best products and applications in a particular category (based on word of mouth publicity)
Concept: Find apps, products or tools that people you know or follow on twitter, use.
Eg: Searching for 'Best online graphic design tools' would show these suggestions
Suggestions: 1.) Mark ( friend on Facebook) uses Piktochart
2.) Allen (following on twitter) uses Canva
Or 'Best place to launch a side project'
Suggestions: 1.) Ryan (following on Twitter) uses Product Hunt
2.) Allen ( following on Twitter) uses Indie Hackers
3.) Marc (friend on Facebook) uses Betalist
@levon any updates?
We'll be announcing the winners within the next few days, very sorry for the delay :(
๐, thanks
Product: Simple joint marketing for service businesses
Problem: Small service businesses such as motorbike repair in (country withheld, happy to provide to judge) do not keep their customers in a database or do follow up marketing. They donโt use computers and canโt be bothered with a CRM system. They are too small to have a dedicated marketer. BUT they do have smart phones.
Solution: Joint marketing (AKA light touch franchising) with other like business that are not direct competitors (business must be 3 Km away from each other). These businesses access a simple mobile site they can enter basic customer data and repair done. 1 min max they will spend entering this data.
Each month same email/sms/whatsapp msg goes out with same offer goes to customers with only the name of the business changed. Service reminders are also sent out.
The businesses donโt schedule anything or have the ability to send offers. All they have to do is enter customer data once and the rest is taken care of.
I have already done basic research of talking to business about their needs and price point.
I am entering this on January 25 USA time so I hope I made the deadline.
Problem: Owning and maintaining snow removal and leaf blowing equipment is time consuming and not everyone's cup of tea. Hiring services for this is expensive... Furthermore, those of us that own good equipment have it sitting around mist of the time.
Solution: A Peer to Peer snowblower and leaf blower rental platform named "Go Blow Yourself " which will:
Allow neighbors to help each other by renting their equipment at affordable rates
There will even be a directory so that neighbors can hire each other for affordable rates to remove snow or leaves (though the name will have to change to something more appropriate).
As a new dad adjusting to supporting a child (and one on the way this July), I would totally rent my equipment to neighbors I knew, or take care of their snow/leaves for a few extra bucks.
The business model would be to handle the transaction online and take a small fee out of the person profiting from the transaction.
Idea: Product Hunt for the Outdoor Industry (gear, products, clothing, books, films, documentaries). Could also go more niche within the Outdoor industry, such as mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, skiing, climbing, etc.
I don't see that this is being done, and like Product Hunt, I think this would be a sticky idea, where people are constantly engaged, coming back, getting their daily emails, etc.
Though this is a late entry, my unbiased opinion is that this idea has some legs.
Problem: Typically in the addiction rehab industry there are patients that are granted work or holiday furlough. The center makes it mandatory for the patient to check in routinely in their absence which causes inconveniences in added labor & the patient for something which could simply be automated.
Solution: Now all the patient has to do is call an automated designated phone number from any mobile phone and it will authenticate through voice recognition the patient and also ask to activate the location of the device thereby eliminating the necessity of an approved landline. This eliminates the hassle of extra Manpower and also the hassle for the patient making it a streamlined process. If the patient has a personal mobile phone there will be an app where the patient can communicate with the system directly.
Problem: We buy so many things that we only use ounce (tools, tech equipement, etc.)
Solution : Peer to peer rental marketplace
Idea: a fundraising site that people can earn a point for each person who you donate to and at the end of every 10 days we pick a winner to give one of the donors a big cash prize the prize cash will come from my revenue the more people a donor donates to the more points and better odds of getting a cash prize points are just like raffle tickets this site will allow people to get funds from random people and family not just family and give the campaign creator and the donor something i would probably need a gambling license ive got a little bit of the site done on bubble but I'm not good at it not to tech I'd need to hire a bubble pro and someone who's tech savvy
Problem: When googling for that item you know you want to buy but just can't find anybody to sell it or make it for you.
Solution: Snap or grab an image that best visually describes the thing you need, post it to a community of shoppers via messenger or app and get their responses to help you find or even buy the thing direct.
Problem : Huge capital expenditure in aquiring machinery or acquire temporary expert/manpower
Solution : Rent / lease / barter everything from Machinery to manpower from carpenter drill machine to Petrolium drilling unit..
Benifit : Huge saving on cost or good opportunity for statup or small contractor to pay per use no trouble of calculating return over capitol even big companies can
Revenue model : Its USP will disclose only to investors

Problem: You are a programmer and want to be more productive.
Solution: You start a live coding stream on Twitch and submit the link to a website that pairs you with another programmer who is also live coding.
If you are on Twitter, they shame you in the chat. The ceiling cat isnโt the only one watching you anymore.
Reviews are cool. Millennials are review happy. The trick is how do you build reviews and customer feedback into your business model.
First, how do you show people that others are reviewing your business on different platforms? That by itself will tell them a lot, it's strong recommendation. Do you tell them to go to google businesses, Facebook, Yelp and check your reviews? Or do you just display your reviews right on your website?
Second, how do you make people review and rate you on different platforms? Why do you send people away to view and write reviews to different platforms?
Because there is no way. What if there is though?
Have people to write you reviews right on your website, Google local business review, Yelp review, Facebook review etc.
Have a "Review my business" or "Tell us what you think" link

How
Just add some JS code snippets into your Review Me page.
Product: web service that helps creators and artists detect their Intellectual Property being stolen.
Problem: while it's fairly easy to track whether someone's misusing your brand logo/name or content you've posted on your blog, there's a market gap in terms of such a tool for graphic designers, musicians, film-makers who want to protect their work. Think an architect whose designs are repeatedly stolen and posted on media sites, blogs, Instagram profiles etc. Or a sound producer whose jingle keeps being illegally used by Youtubers.
Solution: crawler paired up with AI which allows tracking various digital content and scanning it to discover if it matches any work sample in our library.
