Like most entrepreneurs I am drowning in ideas. I'm an idea addict. This addiction to ideas can lead to idea paralysis. The shiny object syndrome is what others have called it.

I founded a small productised service business many years ago. We provide publishing and marketing services to authors and publishers. I've enjoyed building that and it has been 5 years in total of time invested with that business.

I've always had aspirations of building something much larger. Hence the ideas. After an entire 12 months of procrastination I found a solution.  The green label.

I adore Trello. I use it for everything including managing my current business but also for keeping track of personal tasks. I now have a column on Trello where I post all my ideas. The catch is I get one green label. I can only work on the idea that has the green label. I have to exhaust all possibilities for that card. If I get no traction within a month then I move on to the next idea. I'm not fixed on the time span that is negotiable.

The key point is to escape the paralysis of too many ideas. It's working wonderfully well and I thought I would share this very simple yet effective breakthrough.

For extra points share the Trello Board with a friend. They can make sure you don't fall back into your old habits!

The current idea I'm working on is the GhostlyScribe.com
