Story Time
Everyone who developed a game will know making a high quality is expensive. It can be so expensive that many indie game developers can’t afford it. So, as a game developer who has developed several games and published a few games, I had two choices: develop the GUI myself or get public domain resources. I had no other choice as I didn’t have a budget to spend. After this experience, I noticed this to be a problem and something that is worth solving.
For some days, I sat down and think of a business model that will be beneficial for me and my customers. Then I noticed a website called Shutterstock that uses a subscription business model. I thought this business model may be useful as Shutterstock is doing very well. At this point, I want to experiment with this approach.
The first version was developed in three days but then after emailing some potential game asset creators and game developers, there are still people who prefer the standalone payment process. This may be because game asset creators deserve more money for their products and/or people might prefer buying products. This where I thought, the business model is useful for a group but not for everyone. I was recommended by one person to have both payment process in one place. At first, I thought it was an unusual thing to do but I thought it can reduce the problem even more.
Released My Product
It took up to two days to add the standalone payment process. I asked some members for feedback (again). The portion of positive feedback risen. At this point, I thought of releasing my product for game asset creators and game developers. I called this product Mijjimo (https://www.mijjimo.com).
