I’m aiming to launch 10 mini-startups with ~2 hrs build time per project.
I know what you’re thinking…
“Why not build something you love & execute it well?!”
And I agree, to an extent. What I love and can do (fairly) well is: breaking down the barriers to launch, building MVPs with zero code, ‘hacking’ together tools/services in order to automate and mimic processes of a startup. I love proving that you can be anyone, of any technical capability and still execute any idea you have without spending lots of money, hiring a CTO, learning to code and/or quitting your job.
So I’m going to prove it. Again.
10 times in 24 hours total build time. Spread over ~5 days. I’ll tweet my progress in this thread👇

I’ve built a number of projects before with the same tools I will be using for these startups. Blockchain Job is an example.
The tools I will be using include (but not limited to);
- Carrd
- Zapier
- Airtable
- Typeform
- Stripe
I’m categorising these projects as ‘Startups’ because they all have to either make money or have the potential (and built in functionality) to do so.
I’ve built a page where you can suggest ideas for me to build, stay up-to-date with my progress and projects, see the countdown & encourage or shout at me 😊.
If you want to sponsor during this little ‘Make-a-thon’, you can apply here. 2hr build rule still applies but doesn’t need to make money. It will cost you and NOT count towards my 10 in 24hrs. Limited availability and will likely only take on something interesting/challenging.
Context & Background
I founded a (currently unreleased) company, Day Dot — Your MVP team on-demand from idea to launch. I’m using Day Dot to launch these 10 startups but I’m doing this solo.
Lots of the inspiration came from the feedback and overwhelming response I received from publishing:
"The Non-Technical Guide to Launching Products & Side Projects"
Follow my journey, give me ideas/encouragement and….
MAKE SHIT & share with me 😊 I’d love to see what people build too!
Spread the word 🙏❤️
Good luck. Will follow along. Thanks for this. My three in three months sounds doable now :)
thanks!
Definitely is :)
Hey Ben, I think what you are doing is awesome!
That said, I would not exactly class the sites you are creating as MVPs. I think the general meaning of an MVP is a minimum viable product. I.E. Software that a user can have an end-to-end complete and functional experience with.
You're nearly creating a Wizard of Oz product, but still not quite, because a WOZ product also has an end-to-end user experience and feels like a full product.
I think what you are doing is creating product validation landing pages by splicing some great services together like airtable, zapier etc.
Just to be clear, I love what you are doing and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next! ;)
appreciate the support!
Yeah I think some people could look at it from various angles.... but even if the sites I launch require me to manually do things to provide services and the integrations handle lots of other bits I still think it could be classed as an MVP.
Obviously the level of MVP I can create with zero code is different to that of a developer perhaps but that's kind of the thing I'm highlighting. With no tech capability, ANYONE can still launch something to validate if their idea is worth pursuing. It doesn't take long or lots of money.
Good luck mate! Hope you will come up with something grate and maybe we can see your interview here in few months as well 😎✌️
thanks a lot!
this remember when @levelsio launch twelve startups in one year!
I'm impressed. This is an awesome campaign to get the word out for Day Dot. Of course, I'm not too surprised about how good your marketing skills are considering you're from PH ;)

Some may be posted but won't abuse it to post everything

Building in public... holds me accountable and helps me show to people that it can be done. Too many people still think the barrier is too high to execute ideas if they don't have technical capabilities. Thought it would be an interesting challenge and story to take on and build in public. Response has been great so far.
