(Kinda)

The Background

During a two day stint of “down time” last fall, I decided to work on a quick project that would teach me the basics of Natural Language Processing and the UX of chatbots. So I created “My friend Rupert”. Say hello to him here - https://m.me/roborupert

Since then I’ve done nothing with it, no marketing other than a tweet or two the day I made it public - there wasn’t even an official launch.

Yet, it sees new users almost every day! Many are just the curious types wanting to trip the bot up (it’s not difficult), some ask Rupert for ways of making the penis bigger (no joke), but some are the intended audience looking for help from the bot, and, more often than I would like, in ways he does not understand.

This makes me feel not only disappointed, but ashamed the bot wasn’t able to cater for these people. It makes me want to improve it. After all what good is the bot if it can’t fully cater for its audience?

Here’s the problem. Time. It’s a precious commodity right now, and it’s in short supply.

The “giving it away” part.

So what I’d like to do is find someone who would like to take it on. Someone who deeply cares about the cause, someone who can improve it, build upon it, grow it, maybe even make it a SaaS of sorts - just someone who can be passionate enough about the project to make it their own.

If this is you, I’d like to hear from you. I’ve a ton of ideas for where it could go from here.
