In the next 3 months, I will attempt to launch as many side projects as possible. All my side projects will follow 8 simple rules:
- Must be available to the global (English speaking) market.
- Must only require digital work on my part, no business meetings or boxes to pack.
- Must not require any capital (Other than a few bucks for hosting and domain names and such)
- Must be almost exclusively be carried out by me.
- Must require as little maintenance as possible.
- Must be monetized in some way.
- Must be fun to build, even if it makes no money.
- Must be coded in as simple a manner as possible (no fancy javascript frameworks, thank you).
The rules are mostly a product of my past mistakes. If you'd like to know what my past mistakes are - Well, I will probably write a blog post about them.
I believe imposing rules on what you can work on is a great way to get the creative juices flowing. I have named my project "Dogme 95" because the idea of following strict rules in order to spark creativity is inspired by the "Dogme 95" rules for filmmaking.
Anyways, I'm happy to announce the first two products in my Dogme 95 series is out:
- Project 1: www.languagemodels.io - A website for people in need of language models for chatbots and other natural language processing technologies.
- Project 2: www.superslimesoccer.io - A rebuilt website for my old teenage project: A slime soccer game with +1000 unique visitors every day.
- Project 3: www.crosswordmaker.io - A site that allows users to generate their own crossword puzzles.
