I had already this idea in my mind for a couple of months. I read this post on IH: https://www.indiehackers.com/forum/tell-ih-i-am-going-to-help-10-indie-hackers-launch-their-productized-service-285e37977e

It helped me to take the first step.

Robin didn't choose me, but I was exciting anyway, so I started to make finally my productized service.

How I got the idea

I'm a WordPress developer for about 5 years, so I was thinking how to make a product as a service. Here I am with WP/TASK.

First of all I did some research online. There are a lot of service like mine, but they don't offer an unlimited service. If there is an unlimited plan the customer should requests tasks that the assistant can do in 30 minutes.

How can a customer know how much time do you need for a single task?

So I made plans and single task more simple and easy to understand.

Here you have the steps I made to get the website ready in 5 days:

1) Domain ($12,27)

I found a good name thanks to Domainr. I don't have to explain the name because it's very easy to understand. I bought via NameCheap for $12,27. You can find always a valid coupon here.

2) Web Space (FREE)

I decided to start with my shared plan on Dreamhost, so no extra costs.

3) CMS (FREE) and Theme

Of course I installed WordPress and I made a custom theme based on one of my old website.

4) Brand Colors (FREE)

I decided to find a color on this amazing page http://www.vanschneider.com/colors where I chose the number 24.

5) Logo ($1,99)

I'm not a graphic designer. I tried anyway to make a logo on my own. This article helped me a lot: https://journal.designinc.com/how-to-make-a-logo-for-free-in-about-5-minutes-a4f409176a8e

I bough a licence on https://thenounproject.com/

6) Illustrations (FREE)

I love the work of Katerina Limpitsouni. Here https://undraw.co/ you can find lovely illustrations. You can also customize the color of all illustrations.

7) Payment gateway (8.5% + $0.30 (USD) per sale)

I chose Gumroad because I know how it works very well. If you pay 10$ per month the fee change in 3.5% + $0.30 (USD) per sale. I'll buy the plan as soon I start getting new customers.

It's very easy to integrate it to your WordPress website with their official plugin.

8) Newsletter (FREE till 2500 subscribers)

I chose EmailOctopus where you have to connect your account to Amazon AWS. The first 60000 emails per month are free.

EmailOctopus offers a free plugin on wordpress.org.

Actually I could make it in less time, but the most difficult decision was the price model. WP/TASK will grow up (I'm optimist!) little at a time. I don't want to make it very big because I would like to offer an human support to my customers.
