UPDATE/DISCLAIMER
According to the feedback I am have been getting I've identified two main problems with this article:
- Because I am Designer I saw some more potential of what can be built with this and how fast we can get a great simple or temporary solution that's super easy to maintain, in a way that doesn't match the Indie Hacker's expectations for it so the explanation could have been better to compensate for that! It's just different perspectives that I underestimated.
- I underestimated the price objections some of you still have which matches a problem I mentioned before in an article before with the "Entrepreneur vs Technician mindset" which is about focusing on tasks that might not be directly profitable and when it comes to services focusing on how much it costs instead of the time it can save (so you can leverage that into making more money).
Regardless, would love if you could join the discussion below (if you agree or not) and help me understand what would be the ideal solution in your case so I can understand further how to provide more value next time ;)

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon this new website builder that seemed pretty good, but at the same time I was thinking “Yeah...another with big promises and bad execution” but after digging in some more and checking out the product (and playing a lot with it) I realized I was wrong!
I also found some indie hackers using it already including Auston Bunsen from Cblocks and after digging more into it I think there is great potential for quick landing pages for indie hackers who want to save time on building websites (or don’t know how to do it) that would make all the feedback people give here that much more actionable!
I have compiled all the reasons I think Landing Lion might be a game changer for Indie Hackers, enjoy. Not an affiliate btw ;)
Don’t tell me you have never felt any of these before...
- Visual design is hard for you and you would like something easier to try to get better at it or that is easier to fix with some feedback.
- You are not technical and want to ship an MVP landing page (or lead generation page) asap.
- You want to focus on the content of the page, not the technical side.
- You have some new awesome features you would like to explain on the website but it takes a long time to change things.
- You want to optimize the website but split testing and changing things takes forever and you have more things to do in the meantime.
If you found any of these problems familiar then Landing Lion could help you a lot ;)
Reasons why I like Landing Lion
It’s stupid fast!
- You can go from idea to a full landing page in 1 hour.
- It’s so fast you can get feedback and change it in minutes or get a consulting call and apply the structure suggested to get pretty much a new website in a couple of hours. (More about my consulting calls here).
- No code needed, it’s literally just drag and drop (the good version of it)
- You can optimize for mobile in minutes, this was much better than I could expect. They have the responsive design elements absolutely on point!
- You have a ton of templates you can use either for reference or as your website by changing the text.
- Setting up conversion goals is much easier here when you had a button you can set that as a specific goal.
- By the time you setup domains, hosting, analytics and so on… you could have built a good landing page using Landing Lion

If you apply to the right context this is a great solution if they build the product to be this good at this early stage I can only imagine how good this can get in the future.
It’s just good value
If you believe your time is more important than a slight increase in hosting price (trust me some people don't) or if you already pay for some analytics tools then you will find the $29/month starting price a great value as it includes the following:
- Split testing (this can be such a pain done normally)
- Normal Analytics and conversion goal tracking (and the easiest one I have ever used btw)
- Some basic integrations (Convert kit, SendGrid, Mailchimp…)
- Most importantly it saves your time the most valuable thing!
Plus the pricing is made to scale as you scale too so you can test an MVP for a month for only $29!
Integrates with tools you already love
Some of the integrations are premium but you can get by with the basic ones at least in the beginning, popular integrations include:
- Fullstory
- Hubspot
- Zapier
- Google (Maps, Analytics, Adwords )
- Intercom
- Mailchimp
- Wordpress
- Paypal
- Stripe
- Shopify
Don’t want to start from scratch? Use themes!
You can also use themes to quickly ship a page if you want something simple or if don’t have the design skills there are a few templates that could super useful to you.
The best thing is you can create your own themes so you can make crank out similar pages pretty fast.
In this case, I haven’t saved any but this feature is awesome!
Also, I see this problem all the time, and that’s people messing up spacing and fonts and makes it very hard to read, the website builder defines some good sizes by default that are easy to read and you can just focus on the content.
Ok...here’s the real reason I like this thing so much 😏
To be honest... I am a Designer focused on helping SaaS startups with their conversion and I think there is a huge potential increase in value for my clients during the consulting calls as they can implement the changes super fast or I can help them plan the structure of the page in a call.
Then it can be much easier for them to change or build the page and start getting results asap while having a good platform to do split testing and track their results without the high maintenance and that just might 10x the value of my calls (learn more about my calls here), I'm super passionate about providing more value and that Landing Lion just excited me for that 😊

- If you are building MVP’s
- If you want a quick solution
- If you want to test and mess around with the page without the stupid high maintenance
- If you want to focus on the content, not on implementation
- If you are a non-technical founder
- If you value your time more than anything and don’t enjoy the technical work
- If you already use a lot of these integrations.
Who would I NOT recommend this too?
- If you want a fully custom solution (would recommend Webflow, it’s what I use and it's still faster to implement things)
- If your website is going to be big and complex
- If you like doing the technical work
- If you have the resources to delegate all the features Landing Lion includes to their more advanced version (that might need Designers, Marketers and/or Developers)
