@navdevl and I have committed, but we'd like two more to join for momentum and accountability!
If you've thought about creating a blog or would like to dedicate more time to building your blog audience, this is the challenge for you. For 30 days, we'll do one task that brings us closer to blog paradise.
What's Involved?
01 Each day, I'll offer a suggested task to complete. However, feel free to complete your own according to where you are in your blogging journey.
02 Each day, we check in an offer proof that we completed task.
What sort of tasks?
Rotating between build/write/promote, here's a sample list of tasks for Week 1:
Day 1 - Build: Pick a platform. (Time box - 30 minutes)
Day 2 - Write: Brainstorm 7 topics for blog posts. (Time box - 30 minutes)
Day 3 - Promote: Find 3 Medium publications related to your brainstormed topics. (Time box - 1 hour)
Day 4 - Build: Get your chosen platform up and running. (Time box - 1 hour)
Day 5 - Write: Create provocative, catchy titles for each of your brainstormed topics. (Time box - 30 minutes)
Day 6 - Promote: Pitch 3 found Medium publications your brainstormed topics. (Time box - 1 hour)

Who is in?
me
Yes! in!
Love this idea. I've just finished by 12th Medium post and loving the platform so far.
I'm not starting from scratch but would love to get involved in some way to discuss strategies, brainstorming, and best practices.
I am writing for the Startup publication on Medium so I would recommend that. Or the Mission.
I am just about to publish all my articles on my personal website which I am building so perhaps my challenge can involve that?
Absolutely! You'll serve as our North Star! Welcome to the party!
OOOOOh I'd like to join in on the fun!
I'm actually in the process of finding a platform to start on, so this would be perfect!
Where do I sign up? (If spots are still available)
Consider yourself signed in! We'll start tomorrow morning! Excited to have you!
Ohh this is interesting! Question more about blogging than this format - for pitching to medium publications, are you pitching articles that then go back to the blog/platform that we would chose in day 1? Or are those separate entities?
A week or so ago, I asked for strategies to maximize Medium exposure. One accomplished hacker chimed in and said he had wild, crazy success with publishing the post to his own blog first, then republishing to a Medium publication that then redirected folk back to his own site. A win on several levels in terms of SEO, page views, brand reinforcement and reach.
So yeah. The idea is that we would start by writing posts that we already know Medium publications would be interested in republishing. (Hope that answered your question!)
@Harlem this sounds great! Would you like to use newCo to create a proper challenge around this? (free of course)
Women Make are 100+ members https://www.newco.app/programs/8-women-make/batches/8-women-make email me ben.tossell@gmail.com if you're interested in using it!
Thanks for the offer, Ben! I don't want to place any additional friction between us and the goal, so I'll keep it on IH. But I'll definitely consider your app for non-IH challenges.
What's a pimp blog :) (last step)?
(Smiling) Ever hear of Pimp My Ride? Same concept. This task will give us an hour to make our blog look reasonably good.
Gotcha :)
Harlem,
I've spent the past few months wondering whether you're a spammer or ingenious drip marketer ;)
I have to say this is a very cool initiative. Do you plan on sharing the outcome, also what product are you marketing and what are the KPIs looking ahead?
Will there be a follow-up 30 day challenge to actually write and get the articles posted?
(Laughing!) Ouch. Just a chick trying to launch an app.
re Sharing outcome. Of course. This is Indie Hackers. (Smiling) What's the point without data?
re Follow up. Let's see how many of us survive to day 30. And the goal is to not only have the blog set up, but also have 2 qualitative posts, one of which is syndicated by the end of the 30 days.
