Hi IH,
It’s been 5 months since I left my job in March 2018 and decided to focus on making my own products full time for 1 hardcore year to get $1,000 MRR.
Since that time I launched 5 products that earned $5,000 in total gross revenue.
TL;DR
AndreyAzimov.com (Blog): $792
Sheet2Site.com: $1,054
ProgressBarOSX.com: $2,120
MakeOSXGreatAgain.com: $1,029
PreviewHunt.com: $7.5

Good results Andrey! You mention it is revenue, how are your expenses?
Thanks, man. I'm trying to keep expenses low so in average I spend $500 / mo
How did you make money from your blog? Well done btw
I don’t see any ads, so I’m thinking it’s PayPal donations and Patreon. 🤷🏽♂️
Great results so far Andrey! What is your current MRR from all the products? Do you have any MRR goal in mind and how do you plan to reach it?
Total MRR in August so far: $205
Sheet2Site: $73
Patreon (Recurrent donations): $132
Amazing how such a simple idea like Progress Bar OSX is earning that amount.
Makes you wonder what other seemingly insignificant ideas can be profitable 🤔
thanks :)
I love the revenue target meter and progress bar, makes it engaging. Throw in some more CSS in to your page though.
How did some of your work get features on such prominent websites? Do you have a journalist-contact?
Great work Andrey!! Keep it going! 📈
Love tracking your progress man, it’s keeps me going.
As embarrassing as it is to admit, I’m forcing myself to embrace sharing the story openly. Left my last role around the same time as you with the same plan. Been building projects, but between getting way too caught up in stuff I shouldn’t have and just not moving fast enough, I’ve only had one product launched w/ no rev yet.
That said, my story isn’t done. Thanks for the indirect accountability man
Maybe you don't need to share the story openly if it's hard to you. Or make them very shor like bullet points and share here on forum.
I misspoke. Not hard, but uncomfortable because i haven’t yet hit those first milestones and times felt like I could have launched faster/gone for simpler projects that could have led to revenue faster.
The story:
spent several months building a crypto trading bot, hasn’t been as successful as I hoped (see: 2018 crypto landslide)
putzed around with an MVP for scanning job seekers’ social data to make sure they were “interview-ready”, but didn’t pick up much/any traction
just stood up a landing page for an “insurance for speeding tickets” (http://speed.insure). Still shaping the marketing copy & crafting ads
Interesting read Andrey! Nice to see you're going uphill. I assume the MRR is going down at the last point because your latest project costs hosting etc?
Keep it up, you'll be (Pieter) Levelling (pun intended) it up before you know it! 🌶🔥🚀🚢
Brilliant! I really liked PreviewHunt and had bookmarked it. I might send some revenue your way in a few months. :-)
I recently created an Upcoming page on PH and will build it if I get enough validation (https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/makelytics-2).
Congratulations Andrey!
This is huge for 5 months of effort. keep it up Andrey!
Thank you man!
Congratulations on your success so far ... really liked your article
Thanks :)
Awesome Medium post, Andrey! I laughed. I cried. I fully agree with your take on idea validation and learning to code – definitely the slow boat to China. ProgressBarOSX …surprised at it’s traction….it’s like the “pet rock” of my youth….but maybe I am averse to charting how close to death I am! Overall – I think you is a GENIUS!
I know someone who used Sheet2Site.com and covered local news event featured PH.
Can you please share link to local news?

Is the blog revenue from Donations or Ads
Almost all are donations
Congrats Andrey! Do you think you will make more money in the long run by working on different products every month, or if you focus on one product?
Hey Andrew,
I believe the strategy "Throwing spaghetti on the wall and see what will sticks" works so not any spaggetti sticked so far strong enogh :)
Very funny analogy, Andrey 😂
I'm surprised Sheet2Site.com isn't doing better as well.
Maybe you could add a few more themes/styles for the page layouts.
FWIW if there was an 'airtable-to-site' framework with some basic example queries and some level of support, I'd buy that (and pay a subscription) in a heartbeat for speedy mvps. (Context, semi-technical but it takes me way too long)
@jonnyburch @parakeet I have built this for Airtable :-) https://table2site.com/ Would love to know what you guys think! If you have any feature requests, do let me know!
Yes, +1 for that! I'm imagining powering a showcase/directory site (like https://www.lapa.ninja/ or https://land-book.com/ for landing pages) but for another topic. Need minimal backend effort but attractive presentation. I've already cooked up Zapier and APIs to fetch the page title and a screenshot thumbnail for URLs I insert, but I would benefit from something more robust.
It's not about skins. I think the problem that it's to the wide product. I need to find some specific audience and adjust it to them to make them happy
It might be a matter of both. ie. different templates for each use case.
I agree - I think he could easily double the price on that product.
With templates?
I think you could charge more as is.
Very cool and what a progress in just 5 months! It sounds like you've already reached your goal.
I'm surprised that Sheet2Site isn't earning more. You got a ton of mentions and a good spot on PH. How come the revenue is so low?
Product Hunt success means nothing. It's not a silver bullet :)
Great work Andrey! I can't even get one working :(
You can do it! Don't give up. Indie Hackers with you man :)
