5k+ users & 900+ upvotes on Product Hunt - How I built Toolkit in 20 mins

As part of https://www.newco.app/ I launched Toolkit yesterday and thought it was a great chance to show others how they can build their own.

Here's a 20 minute screencast on how I built it and how you can too.

Ben, awesome site thanks for the tutorial. I suffer from Dyscalculia which unfortunately makes it near impossible for me to code.

I always have new ideas but never manage to put them together due to the lack of technical ability's. Sounds like your info could help me, but I wonder how much.

Oh wow I never knew that! Sorry to hear but I'm sure I could help.

I try and make things that anyone could make just don't think about how to.

I love the concept. My issue is only numbers in life. I run two successful business's online, the main one since 2013 both are going strong.

I like the idea of (making) though, it's awesome. I remember seeing some software called UBot which allows one to create software's without needing advanced code.

        Never did try it though.

Congrats! Something I'm aspiring to then :)

Yeah I have been making side projects for a few years now. It got in the way when I was working at Product Hunt haha - oops!

          1. 2

I like side projects more, that's more fun.

I would love to see a longer blog posts about the start of newCo and how you grew it via ProductHunt. Very inspiring stuff

    1. 2

yeah all to come! Still hustling it off the ground right now :)

  3. 2

Damn, even if you enjoy coding it would be worth it to spin your PoC with a tool like this.

    1. 1

hahaha appreciate that. Just me messing around until stuff works!

      thanks!

Great work with NewCo and Toolkit Ben.

Really interesting to see more about the no code route to launching. Even people who can already code would be able to learn a lot from what you're teaching.

    Keep it up! 👍

      appreciate it!

    Nice work, make any sales?

    1. 1

      Yeah a few! :)

I need to have a lot more free tutorials out there and sort out my flow for consuming content.

Good work! Very interested in webflow and newco – might have to spin up a side project just to try them out.

Would love to have you join us! Let me know if you have any questions.

I only started playing around with webflow and I definitely don't do things by the book but it works!

Thanks! But... are you hunter yourself? It changes everything...

        1. 2

yeah I'm the hunter myself... what does it change?

I used to work at Product Hunt and know all the fake concerns people have around hunting/posting :)

          1. 2

ProductHunt by nature is the service where hunters publish information about great products. Therefore any average person who is not a hunter, doesn't have the same chance to have his product noticed. Am I wrong? [It's based on the advice: it's better to find a good hunter than publish anything yourself.]

I'm not trying to say that your product itself is not good. I just mean that in your case numbers mean something different than for anybody else who is not a hunter.

            1. 1

technically anyone can post and be a hunter... the team (and community) often find and upvote interesting products throughout the day which then become featured. It used to matter a whole lot more who your hunter was but less so by the time I left.

I think like 85%+ (at least) of all products featured are not from these 'elite' hunters. Sure it can't harm you if someone with a good rep hunts you, but certainly not the be-all.

Yeah no problem at all, didn't think you were digging out my product haha just wanted to be clear! Spent 2 years of my life in intercom/email/twitter telling people to hunt things haha
