I have created an app for pilots flying VFR (Visual Flight Rules) in most European countries. It displays charts from the Open Fightmaps project and it is meant to be used as a reference on the ground.
I am still in the process of developing it and I have some ideas of features to add, e.g. caching offline charts per country, moving map, displaying ADS-B traffic, and more.
Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for features or bug reports.
PS: Here is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cryodev.se.cryocharts
amazing app, I am a private pilot/engineer myself in the US working on some aviation related ideas. Would love to connect and have a chat if you are down for it. My info: richard_li520@h0tmail.com
Hello Richard. The US is an amazing country for General Aviation.
Thanks for your kind words, I will drop you an email.
looking forward to it!
Tja dimme! :)
Does your app has its own domain? I think it should, I wouldn't trust my landing page or app marketing to the mediocrity that is Google Play.
Any plans on where and how to market the app?
Tjenare ami =)
It doesn't have. Actually I didn't think of marketing at all, since I feel it is not a complete product to advertise about yet.
But it is a great idea, I should probably get a domain in meantime.
I think a beta is a good time to market your app but also get much needed feedback to figure out if you're on the right track.
From what I've heard about Google Play, the competition can be brutal and having your app show up can be very difficult. Marketing outside of Google Play seems super important.
Have you done some user research with pilots, did you get any useful feedback?
Lemme know if you need any help with your landing page 👍
I'm a pilot myself so I simply make what I want to use. I have gotten feedback from a few other pilots and what they want is pretty much aligned with my ideas.
Thanks for your offer, I will let you know if I need your help.
