Anyone doing email courses? What are your open rates?

I'm curious if anyone else is doing email courses to help build their audience.

I launched a course last month (a web accessibility course for web developers) and have had about 70 people go through it, with an average open rate of 59%, though that starts to trail off a little towards the end of the course.

What are your open rates for a course like that?

Do you have any techniques for sustaining engagement throughout a course?

Haven't done an email course, but have attended one (free)

59% is a great open rate, what about the click through rate if you have any links in there?

The open rates dropping towards the end of the course may have many reasons, three of which I can vouch for:

    1. Initial sign up just wanted to test

    2. Is the email ending up in the promo/spam folder?

    3. Is the content valuable enough? Is the sequence right?

Hope the perspective helps, goodluck :)

Average click rate is around 7.5%. Any links I'm including are typically external and not really conversion focused, but it does seem like people are engaging.

The drop off isn't too big, mid sixties at the beginning to high forties - mid fifties by then.

Since it's not that big of a drop off I wonder if the sequence needs to be tweaked. Or maybe I could space the emails closer together. Thanks for the feedback.

That's actually pretty great, planning to do something similar in a different domain though, will stay in touch :)
