Hi,
Finally, ceasing to be a serial chicken. 🐔 And opening up. 👋
I am building an online web service to help indie makers & small startups create customer support knowledge base.
This will be based around markdown. The web service will be kind of a wrap around.
Calling it MD2KB. Please provide feedback on this. 👉 www.md2kb.com
Would you use it?
It is WIP as of now. So your praises, suggestions & complaints will help me a lot. 🙏
Love this community.
Cheers, 🥂
Every software is a WIP until kingdom come.
I digress.
It’s clear except for this part
Create a template-based markdown file
& save it in root.
No idea what that means.
And integrations with my current tools are under important - like live chat software for example.
Thanks bro for the time.
The confusing part needs to be re-written as, "Create a markdown file as per a template & save it in the root folder of your website." My bad. Sorry about that.
Integrations have not really been thought of at this stage. Have made a note of it.
Keep shining! :)
Congratulations on launching! The landing page could use some work, but something > nothing :)
I built a Documentation section of my website with just plain HTML, and at 6 pages, it's already unwieldy! One change to the layout, and that's 6 individual changes - horrible.
Thanks for stopping by :)
Yes! The page does need work. :-P I basically just needed to test the idea. Was chickening out wondering "what if" no one uses it. :-P. So just posted here.
Would you use this? Do sign up if you need to be notified when it is ready.
:)
That's a harder question to answer haha. IndieHackers are a tough bunch to market to. I'm pretty frugal, so I really need to justify spending money (even $9/yr!) on projects that are only costing me money.
I've signed up anyway, can't wait to learn more :)
Haha... Indeed tough. That's why the try. :) I really love the warmth the community provides. Am pretty frugal myself. :) https://medium.com/@shreekumars/how-we-launched-a-start-up-part-2-e2c83ff4de99
Made free tools too for the community www.mycta.cf
Thanks for signing up. :)
It seems interesting to me. Would love to try it out.
Curious to know, how markdown would be structured. Will it be possible to create multi-page KB using your service?
Hey, Thanks for your interest :)
The service will split the markdown into articles & will be searchable.
Please do signup & you will be notified when we are ready.
Cya :)
I like the idea and the price. But I don't really know what "Create a template-based markdown file & save it in root." means with regards to root.
I would subscribe if it is cheaper than putting search on my site myself. Generating the HTML/CSS is not the expensive part.
However, I have a concern, my FAQs trigger Google Analytics events so I know which FAQs are most popular. I hope this will still work.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. :)
My bad for the super bad copy writing. The message should have been, "Create a markdown file as per a template & save it in the root folder of your website."
I have noted the need of the good search functionality.
It will have a feedback kinda like google. Was article helpful? Yes/No
Thanks again. :)
