Concrete Calculator - Weekend hack!

Hey, Indie Hackers!

I recently had a bit of downtime and worked on a small side project: https://concretecalculator.io and would love to get your thoughts. This is my first "side-project". I typically focused on larger problems and just in-general involves more commitment from my end.

As you the URL suggest, it's a simple Concrete Calculator to calculate the volume, weight, and the number of bags of concrete you need per project.

Thank you Indie Hackers, super inspiration platform, would love to get a few thoughts on what you think on my first hack.

The project is a simple HTML static site and hosted on Netlify.

Super Thanks!

Robert!!! Where were you last weekend?! I needed this exact site. I'm building a fort for my kids and bought only one 60 lb. bag naively thinking it'd be fine. Nope, I had to buy 8 more. Your site is spot on. Amazing work! (One minor critique, the results are below the page fold).

I used the one with the 4x4 whole in the middle for my posts (I used a 3.5 in radius.

    12x3.5x12x6 =

4.312 cubic feet or 0.160 cubic yards or 0.122 cubic meters

if pre-mixed concrete*, it is 573.431 lbs or 260.048 kgs

if 60 lbs per bag, it is 9.557 bags

if 80 lbs per bag, it is 7.168 bags

Another side note, I think Europeans use different weight bags (some of the how-to videos use a different sized bag).

Hi Ryan, Thank you so much for the great feedback. Going to work on the results and doing a bit of research on European sizes.

@robertyuen Awesome. What inspired you to create this side project?

My background is in Architecture and I've always had an interest in physical projects. This was just a great excuse for me to dabble in both. Thanks, Jeff!

Awesome! As someone who's also hacked together many "calculator" type sites, I love to see that others are working on cool things like this. I don't have any personal use cases for this but the site looks great. Nice work.
