Funny, I saw the 4 hour work week from a different angle when I read it. To me, it was all about finding and focusing on the highest leverage activities you can and tuning out the rest. I didn't see his strategy as opposing craftsmanship but in some ways supporting it.
This article is 100% derivative of Deep Work. It's one of the most important books I've read.

Also, most people seem to be missing that Tim Ferriss had a successful business making ~40k/month as his start point. His experience was about how to optimize from there.
