Crowdsourced list of Indie Hackers ideas and problems

UPDATE! : Launched on PH. Please upvote us -- https://www.producthunt.com/posts/indie-hackers-crowdsourced-ideas

Hey guys,

I just got a small idea today. We are all builders but also all have business problems that need to be solved. Why not create a crowdsourced excel spreadsheet of problems were are ready to pay for? Someone might create a startup / side project based on those proven problems.

Here is the spreadsheet (feel free to edit it!) : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yBKac2ovwlS78kr1zjndq4_uCmSXix4i04tfLHXM3zw/edit#gid=0

Back to work guys! (Here is a 1965 French song to motivate you this month about working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_3Om6Jc3XE)

I think that it's a great idea! Sometimes you don't have to fix a new problem, instead of you can find new solutions to the old problems. Anyway, I built a free platform with more than 1000 different business models, once you have a problem, try to find the right business model for your start-up.

Hope to help the community https://vizologi.com

Cool! My 2 cents are in the spreadsheet now.

Great! Thanks for contributing. We have quite a few ideas now!

We also just launched on PH, please give it some love https://www.producthunt.com/posts/indie-hackers-crowdsourced-ideas

    Awesome idea 😍

You can increase width of the protected cell though.

"Why I built this" column is half-cut

Thanks for changing so fast 🚀

Hey I think you should give all the fields a lot of room. Somethings are still cut short.

This is really cool, You can create a quality pool of jobs for startups owners and freelancers. I'm ready to work with you for MVP. I do design and development.

      Thanks!

I built this because I realised the following: 99% of startup failure is because you build stuff that nobody wants. You need to talk to your customers AND build after (or at the same time, even better).

😃 Tell the world about your startup

🤔 Write 1 problem your startup is currently having

💡 Suggest a solution to your startup problem

💰 Tell the world how much you would be willing to pay for it

👷 Someone might build a startup around that proven problem

So in the end, an entrepreneurial guy like me or indie hacker can be like: "Wow, I didn't think of that problem, I am going to build a startup around it".

        Really cool approach!!

My current side project actually focuses on a solution for finding content ideas (line 7)

Great idea Robin. I'm actually going to start work on something to solve the problems mentioned by @Vinrob in lines 6 and 7 :)

This is cool. I love to see people collaborate.

It's been done before in different ways, my favorite is oppsdaily.com

One problem I always see though, is people don't discuss existing solutions enough. I think it's worth it for a couple of reasons. First, there may already be something out there that fits the bill. E. G. Hubspot is a pretty good CRM and it's easy to use. It may be good enough for most people.

Second, if existing solutions aren't good enough, then why? If Hubspot is not what you had in mind, why? Key differences might actually turn into a better value proposition for a new app, with a new target customer.

If nothing out there comes close, then it's worth asking why. I saw the $100/mo ask for a content writing service. The thing is, I saw this idea executed nicely, but for a lot more $$. It may be that it cannot/should not be done so cheaply.

To address these issues, maybe the sheet could evolve into a simple forum? Discourse is a nice free app for this.

      Totally agree with this!

I also agree that someone should make a forum (or, I hope that Indie Hackers will have some collaboration like this in the future). By the way, I currently do not have time to make this spreadsheet a forum (or a business) but if anyone wants to do it, let's go!

Nomadlist started through crowdsourcing, but it eventually become a website. So I think you should keep the spreadsheet public but also make a simple website of it.

So go use Sheetsu or Airtable or Sheet2Site & hopefully think about a way to monetize.

Checkout Ideas Watch & Request for Startup, it has some awesome ideas & sometimes you can add that too.
