Apply to Y Combinator
Started a prototype to make people smile
Make at least 100 people smile
Thank you @Harlem again for keeping up this thread
https://autenti.ca/smile will make you feel better by asking you to smile in front of the camera for at least 4 seconds. Please try it out and share your thoughts
Hmmmm. Gave it a try, but it kept asking me to access my camera. Any way to circumvent such?
Hey @Harlem, thank you very much for trying it out. It asks for your camera because that's the only way to check whether you are smiling or not.
I came up with the idea 2 days ago and asked on IH if I should build it. I decided to build it but I didn't think that people will be very concerned about the use of their camera. Something I learned really fast by sharing with friends around.
I added a section where I say that
No picture is saved. Not a single picture gets stored anywhere
No picture is shared. No one can see any picture
No camera tricks. You can see when the camera is being used.
I'm planning to have a 'smiles counter' where people will see in near-real time how many times people have smiled for at least 4 seconds.
How do you feel after reading my explanation? Is https://autenti.ca/smile something that you would be willing to try after reading it?
Thanks again for taking the time to review the site and share your concern.
Truthfully? Probably not. But I'm likely an outlier. (Smiling) I'm unusually cautious about giving access to anything!
Epic: Implement proper TEST and LIVE mode.
Yesterday: Completed the TEST/LIVE implementation using the Stripe API.
Today: Finish the implementation on the app side.
Kudos: Goes to @darafsheh for his insights on the SaaS billing in a previous post. Good research there, which happens to support exactly what I am building :)
Work in progress: https://unleak.io
Love the feel of the landing page ... but would also appreciate some sort of visual of what can be achieved with your product! Good luck today!
In the series of upcoming epics, I will implement a demo gallery so you can actually see, play with and test all the widgets.
There will be two demos available: a small SaaS, and a magazine/blog.
Thanks!
Perfect. Looking forward to checking it out!
I am targeting to hit $1K MRR by September for contentiskey.co , a productized content-as-a-service for businesses to hire a dedicated writer for $250/mo
Yesterday I launched on IH and got 375 pagesviews
Today I launched on HN , the response has been low
I give kudos to @Vinrob for being the pioneer of productized services
Tomorrow I will launch my medium blog, post 4 blog posts and complete contentiskey.co bugs
Thank you for this challange
Sexy-looking site! I like it! What response were you expecting from IH and HN?
@Harlem Thanks for the feedback, I expected HN to give me half traffic of IH but IH performed much better than it.
get small segment of a marketplace for coding up and have users.
ran ad yesterday got a partial lead. reworked home page image. changed button color on landing page.
hooked up google analytics and an have a small adwords test running to validate my basic premise.
Kudos: Harlem for setting this up. Can't visit your site I'm at work. ok I clicked and quickly left...
(Laughing!) I appreciate the attempt! Look forward to checking out your site soon!
Epics:
By end of September:
✓ Users are able to view any first chapter of any author.
✓ Users are able to view any author of any teaser.
✓ Users are able submit a second chapter for any first chapter.
Users are able to accept a second chapter for any the first chapter they've written.
(Stretch Epic) Two users are able to add additional chapters privately.
Yesterday: Bought a domain name for a side-side gig. Created a template for my side-side gig. Named my first rocket. Felt awful that I neglected my main-side gig. So woke up early this morning to finish unraveling the aftermath of refactoring tales and submissions.
Today: Finish refactoring the confirmation page. Finish styling submissions. (Hold me accountable. This is going to happen today!)
Kudos: Pending others joining in!
Work in Progress: https://app.happyendin.gs and (coming soon) https://namemyrocket.com
Awesome, keep it up
