Hi, there fellow hackers,
For the last couple of weeks, I've been working to integrate a transactional email service (Thunder-Mail - https://github.com/Circle-gg/thunder-mail) for my project https://www.Audicle.app. I research a lot and found many great email providers.
In episode #056 Courtland speaks with Quincy about mail-for-good an open source campaign management tool.
That was inspired me to build my email service using AWS SES (Yes, I'm a developer. I love to make things myself).
I focus on transactional emails (https://sendgrid.com/resource/what-is-transactional-email/), those can be very costly with the current pricing tiers.
So, I open source my solution, it is very early in development, but you can do the main things, sending emails, and get analytics (open, click, bounce and more.) using API.
Hope it can help you, building your company.
I would love to get feedback on the project and feature requests :)

Fantastic. You did a great job. SES is a great service for sending bulk emails. I have been using it for sending all kinds of emails.
Moreover if your site is hosted on Amazon EC2, you can send up to 62k emails for free.
Thank you!
What do you think about the Reame part in the repository?
That looks great! But I'm biased since I helped you build it ^^
But what interest me is how much you fellow builders pay for your outbound email services (transactional, marketing, etc..)
Whould love if anyone can share.
sounds like a great initiative. thanks for sharing. so you basically pay for AWS costs
Yes, exactly.
And you still get the easiness of the other platforms.
Sorry, am i missing the project link or did you forget to post it?
Anyhow that would be a very good project and i think any opensource project has its reason to exists.
What kind of spam level is associated with email sent with your tool? I read that custom solutions often are marked as spam emails since they have no reputation.
A thing i would like to have is capability to receive email too (as with services like Mailgun) and the possibility to hook incoming messages and add custom logic code (i'm a developer too :D): that would allow me to extend the server capabilities (even if this may be a little out of scope for project)
Thank you, I edited the post and added the link to the project :)
The project is built on top Amazon Simple Email Service.
You have the control over your reputation.
I only provide a smooth and extended way to work with Amazon SES.
Adding features like analytics, email history, email templates, and easy API.
If you can open a pull request with that feature requested, it will be great :)
