One of those tools where it feels like i immediately "get it". Nice work on the site and thank you for the insights!
Good luck going forward from here ;) 🔥

What about Drift was controversial or what user feedback was given about drift itself? I haven't used it but good info to know when evaluating options.

• I got some feedback on the irony of a "distraction free writing space" and then this chat bubble popping up distracting the ability to read the value props on the landing page. 😆 I've delayed the popup manually to 15 seconds now. I also don't pop it up once a user has signed up. Will see how this goes. I think it's necessary to alert the unfamiliar and the greeting is welcoming, inviting people to chat with me.
• I also need to work to remove it from certain parts of the site (e.g. composition) where it really is a distraction. Probably only necessary on home, settings, landing and reading pages.
• Some were not happy with how Drift asks for their email address up front. I can see the distaste, but is helpful. This can be disabled but I do appreciate it as a lead. I treat Drift as a CRM so I can follow up when I fix a feature or bug the user has alerted me to. Just going to keep going with it for now given the value I'm getting out of it.

Got it, that all makes sense. I was wondering if they were doing some none obvious stuff that user's were bringing up 👍
