Has anyone ever sold a side project before finishing?

I had an idea for a chrome extension last year, after building it and dragging out the landing page, it's near enough ready to launch. However, I no longer have the time I did when I first had the idea so it would be better off in someone elses hands.

Has anyone been through the same thing and sold their side project pre launch?
