Saturday the 8th of August at 2:15 AM I became a father of our 3rd child; a girl named Lara ❤️👶🏼.
There is something magical about holding a newborn in your arms. Even if it means less sleep while holding the little one close to you in the middle of the night.
While sitting in that rocking chair, I was contemplating how nature works and how motivational it actually is when you're comparing it with entrepreneurial endeavors and the product creation process.
Nature truly is the ultimate Product Shipping Machine.
Because, when you look at it without the emotions, Nature actually is totally BS free. It creates a version of life and delivers it to this world. Whether it is perfect (of course she is 😅) or not, it is put out there to the test.
The world is the "marketplace" for this human product and it can literally survive and thrive in it, or not.
Zoom out to the scale of human generations and you see how nature uses trial and error to create the "better version" of a product. No worries, no "wait, I have to perfect this first". No "it's not possible, it will not work" and no "let me wait for the timing to be better".
Just delivering a naked product at the time that it is "ready for release" and putting it in your hands to go on from there.
When you take all of this into account, Nature truly is the ultimate Product Shipping Machine.
Take a minute to think about it. I hope it inspires you as much as it did with me.
🛑 Stop worrying. 🛑 Stop delaying. 🛑 Stop perfecting.
🤔 Imagine, 📝 Define, ❓Verify, 🏗 Build and 🚢 Ship.
My wife was pregnant with child #4 when I was laid off from my hopefully last job I'll ever have. I went off on my own and haven't looked back. That was 7 yrs ago. Kids are great for focus :)
They put things in perspective. They are great market simulators as they want different things each day, ask stuff when it doesn't suit you and can really challenge one's patience.
Manage that and you'll be a better person. A better entrepreneur as well. And you get a lot of love in return from those little raskals.
Congratulations! Love the name Lara.
I am a huge Tomb Raider fan and argue with my wife all the time that when/if we have a girl, we will name her Lara.
Thanks 🙌🏻 What if I told you we had another name in mind up till one week before she arrived? We watched the 2018 version of Tomb Raider and really got to love the name.
It is Russian for "protector" and Latin / Greek for "light" and "bay leaf". The latter was given to Olympic athletes that won a competition so it is also synonymous for "victory". Hope that gives you ammo to love the name as much as my Wife and I did.
That, and I know our Lara will kick ass in the future, too ;)
Great, now I gotta have a kid.
Haha 😂
Nah, it isn't about that.
It's more about taking all the good and bad that comes by in Life and putting it in perspective. Put it to use and reflect on how it applies to you as a human and as an entrepreneur.
It will help to evolve your mindset 🧠
✌🏻
Congrats on the new kid :) Nothing like balancing the entrepreneur life with raising kids at the same time. As a side note, how do you find time with 3??
Thanks. Right now I'm working part-time (yes it exists) at a company backed startup. As soon as the little one has a steady night schedule, I can go back on working on side-projects during my fixed evening (Tuesday evening). And I get up earlier to start the day with working on my own stuff before heading to the office, which is really enlightening and gets me going for my projects and my dayjob.
