How posting on IH helps me shape my ideas

Every now and then, I write a post on IH. Sometimes, they get a lot of traction, like my recent article about how I got 1000 users (https://www.indiehackers.com/@RickVanHaasteren/how-i-got-my-first-1000-users-47d06edc3d).

The follow-up post I wrote was about how to monetize this success (https://www.indiehackers.com/@RickVanHaasteren/its-time-to-make-some-money-here-s-how-00751d3ae5) hardly got any upvotes.

I now realize that it doesn’t really matter. Even if no one would read it, I realize that just writing down my thoughts helps me shape my ideas. I may start a post without knowing the outcome, and during my writing, I get new ideas and work out the details in my head. An unexpected benefit of being a transparent startup!

Anyone else with similar experiences?

It is very common thing to make meaning of something while one puts ideas in words, either in writing or orally. That's why, for example, something as primitive as rubber duck debugging works.

By writing, you are basically make a focused effort to conceptualize your experience.
