Picking up the phone and saying the first sentence always bugged me the most. I wonder if that could be helped with an auto dialer and recorded opening sentence? If there is interest I continue speaking live after the recording ends. I might try it some day. If I don’t get hung up on immediately that could indicate slight interest. Or just someone being polite. But warm interest/politeness is much more easy to deal with.
