Hello guys. After beeing a long time lurker here I finally started my project.
It is an cover letter writing service for the german speaking market.
Although you maybe don't speak german - I think you will get the gist.
Could you please give me your insights on the design and what you would approve?
Thanks
Hi IJ,
Congrats on the launch!
So here's my feedback (I do speak German):
I like the problem you're solving, I think your service could be useful
You make the classic 'founder' mistake with your landing page - the really important 'hero-section' content focusses on
what your product does, when instead you should be talking aboutwhy I (the visitor) need your product!59 Euros/cover letter isn't a problem in itself, but I don't personally think you're asking for enough personal information about the client to write them the kind of awesome cover letter worth 59 Euros. That does depend who you're targeting though - this would be fine for a secretary/blue collar/service worker kind of application (but perhaps too expensive because they will have to apply to lots of places).
Building on the last point, maybe you could charge slightly more and do 3/5/10 cover letters? Few people apply for only one job at a time...
Good luck!
Hey Louis, thanks for the great feedback especially the: why I need your product. Yeah I will have to reconsider my pricing. Do you have any tips on where to start promoting. Since now I have google adwords running for 5 days. Lets just say: I am not thrilled
Thanks.
Honestly, I don't know enough about what you're doing to make any great suggestions without spending a lot more time learning about the market. My gut reaction is that your site is too broad (anyone applying for a job) which puts you in competition with basically everyone selling to job hunters.
Instead, I'd focus on a niche in the early days (eg finance, construction, something else where you know the industry...) and dominate that niche before moving on. I'd also focus heavily on success stories and share them on LinkedIn.
Good luck!
Great point on the "The classic founder mistake." - Noted.
Nice and clean design. Just my 2 cents: I would try a darker green (same like the CTA button) for this headline "Lass deine Bewerbung von unseren Experten schreiben".
thanks will implement
It looks good, not too much distraction, just the information needed. And feedback from your customers.
I think this looks great! Very clear layout, where each of the items are separated by color and space.
One thing I noticed was the footer has a second... footer under it, with a lighter black and the logo. It is where you say "Made with love in Austria". Why the second footer there? Was there a reason why it wasn't just included in the footer itself?
Hope that made sense.
Nice clean design, I’m looking at it on an iPhone 5s and it looks great.
Can’t comment on the content but the testimonials stand out well.
Great job! The only thing that I noticed was the inverted favicon; if that was a conscious choice, then go with your gut. If it wasn't, then I would change it to match the main logo. Just my 2 cents
I don't see it inverted. May I ask with what device you visited the page? Smartphone tablet desktop. thx
I am on a linux desktop in the Opera browser, and by inverted, I mean the black and white colors are swapped.
Hey, I can't find the link to your page.
Oh man, i forgot to add it: http://bit.ly/genialbewerben
One strange thing I found is when I clicked the Facebook logo on Contact subpage I was redirected to themeforest.net website.
I can't tell too much about the content, because I don't speak german at all ;)
You are right - will change. Thanks
