If you were starting your business again, what would you do different?
A popular question which is always good to revisit.

What a timely question! I just started a review of the first year of my business to write a blog post about it. I'm going to do 12, but here are my first 6.
Hire someone to help me. I waited too long to get help.
Create systems from Day 1. I had most of the business processes in my head until I hired someone else. Document and create process even if its only me in the business. Books like E-Myth revisited and Built to Sell are useful resources.
Set client expectations better. Make it very black & white what is covered and what is not. Will avoid messy conversations down the line.
Set up a robust accounting system from day 1. Hire an accountant from day 1 and follow their lead. This cost me hundreds of hours.
Document the entire process. I wish I had kept a daily journal or audio/video diary. So many interesting stories and lessons have been forgotten already.
Build a better support system or mastermind network around me. I did everything solo for the first 12/18 months. I could have gone much quicker and made far fewer mistakes if I'd surrounded myself with fellow entrepreneurs.

I hired from day one. Even if it eroded my profitablity. It's allowed me to scale, and maintain sanity while still being an engaged father and company founder.
