Dear Indie Hackers community,
I'm running a successful WordPress theme business for almost 6 years now. I'm currently at the point where I'm considering handing over the project to a new owner as I want to dedicate more time to a non-WordPress related project and I also want to spend more time with my family.
The business is highly profitable with almost no expenses and a 12-month revenue of $230k. If there are Indie Hackers / developers / investors out there who are familiar with running a WordPress business, who have the funds to take over such a project and who would like to take on a new challenge, please feel free to contact me.
FE International may be able to help you with this.
Thanks Emile. I'm aware of FE International, Dealflow Brokerage, Flippa, etc... However, I don't necessarily need to sell the project and I'm totally fine to keep running it. However, if I could hand over the project to a new owner, I wouldn't say no as it would allow me to dedicate more time to other things. In other words, I currently rather prefer trying to find an interested investor without involving an online business broker or having a public auction.
@michaelh I'm not sure what the turn off is for you about brokers, but maybe you can be really detailed about how you would like the arrangement to work so that you remove all the things you dislike about working with a broker? As for the brokers fee, especially with a solid history like your company, the increased exposure they have probably allows them to add their fee to the sales price so you don't have to pay anything out of your end.
Everything has pros and cons but the good thing about this situation is that you can work with a small company that has flexibility to eliminate some or all of the cons.
You have a solid business there so you shouldn't have to settle too much on deal terms. Good luck with your sale!
Hi Jeff, thanks - I appreciate your thoughts.
