Early this morning I decided to add my site Vue Hero (https://vuehero.com) to Product Hunt. But the timing almost couldn't be any worse. Just 10 minutes after I posted there a new day on Product Hunt began and my product was placed in yesterdays hunts.
So lesson learned, timing is important!
Anyone here like my site and want to give me an upvote?
I'd suggest using https://previewhunt.com/ next time. It's quite convenient for previewing your future publication and it has timing ;)
BTW, we're #1 product of the day at this moment. Can spare some more insights later.
Your facebook page box is in alien language :P
Looks sinister and northern... you'd best fortify your wifi router and keep an eye out for raiding parties.
Haha, yes it's norwegian. Didn't look at the script from facebook to well. I see that nb_NB was set at default language, changed it to english now. Thanks :-)
What do you mean? Looks good for me in all of my browsers.

Nice site, how did you like working with NuxtJS? Did you generate a static site with it or is it a universal app?
Working with Nuxt was like a dream. It gave me a feeling of "wow, it just works". Can't recall having any specific problem, and the documentation on Nuxt is very good.
Vue Hero is a universal app. Started out as a generated site, but as I added login, tracking of course progress and so on I felt that turning it into a universal app was the best.
Nice landing page. May I know do you write the CSS from scratch, or you purchase the CSS from a market place. One thing I notice, if you click on "Home" menu, the page margin/ padding is (little) different from rest of others.
I notice when you click on the link, the page refresh isn't required. May I know is this technology called "Single Page Application in JavaScript" ? I'm currently using Django to generate landing page, using HTML template. I have intention to generate similar effect as yours (Without reloading page when clicking on menu link)
Thank you Yccheok!
I have not bought the CSS as a theme or anything, and I can't say that I have built it from scratch either. I have used a free CSS framework called Bulma. Definitely worth checking out!
Will fix the "Home" link issue.
Yes, you are correct about that. I specifically used something called Nuxt to build Vue Hero. Nuxt is based on Vue.js, and it makes everything super easy when it comes to pre-rendering and similar things.
I've also used Django, but that is for backend like authentication, tracking course progress and so on.
If you want to build something like Vue Hero I would suggest that you take my Getting started with Vue.js course and after this you can take a tutorial on how to use Nuxt.
Good luck!
Congratulations on the launch, Stein. Upvoted your post on PH.
Thanks, Salil!
I made it to the front page of PH now :D
Felt low earlier today when I thought that I had missed out on the opportunity of PH because of my bad timing. But thanks to people here on IH I contacted PH and they helped me!
Congratulations on getting to the first page. Hope the launch goes well :)
I will check it out myself, would love to recommend by team which is building everything in Vue.js
Cool! Let me know if there is anything! If you sign up for the newsletter you'll be notified when I add new courses. I'm working on new content all the time :-)
Nice webpage. How did you make it?
Thanks peterdoh!
It's made with the css framework Bulma and I've also used Nuxt which is a tool that let's you use SSR on Vue.js pages.
The backend is written in Django where I used Django Rest Framework to set up the API.
i recommend to use the preview hunt if you plan for a product hunt launch , there is a timing count down to inform you the best time to post.
That does not sound like a bad idea! Will definitely do that next time. Thanks for the tip!
I am seeing it featured today. Congrats! Gave you an upvote :)
Yeah, I contacted the support staff and they were nice enough to help me and change the publish date :-)
I've seen people being put in the next day because of this, contact support as they already told you :)
Quick typo
"frem zero to hero" => from zero to hero
Great idea btw!
Oh and one thing that helps me is copy/pasting the page in Grammarly, the free version is already a great way to minimize typos and other errors
Grammarly sounds like something a norwegian like me could use yes. Thanks!
Fixed the typo. Should definitely have caught that my self :P
Congrats on launching. I've started looking into learning Vue JS so your website might be a good resource.
Thanks!
Learning Vue sounds like a good idea :) I hope my site helps you on the way!
I got a big "An error occurred" message when clicking on pricing, signup or login. It's probably because I use a plugin that blocks GA and other advertising-related scripts. It's a cool idea though and I'll definitely check out some of the lessons.
I run a similar site for Elixir. If you wanna chat on skype or mastermind growing this kind of site, just click to my profile page and email me. I've got another friend doing a blockchain learning site and we've gotten some benefit from swapping tips.
Could you try again now? I did a rebuild 15 minutes ago, that could have been the problem. Should fix so that the page does not give you an error because of GA being blocked.
Can send you an email later. Swapping tips sound like a good idea :-)
Yep, now I can see the pricing page! Will check out the rest later tonight.
I love the name.
Thank you :-)
Lol, I launched Stippee 14 minutes after midnight and it doesn't even show up...
I’ve done this once before. I contacted support and they helped me out.
Thanks for the tip. Will do that!
You need to ask a native English speaker to check your texts.
Yes, my english might not be the best. I will see what I can do.
