Looking to Partner With Open-source Maintainers

Hey IH! I recently got accepted to YC's Startup School. I'm exploring different ways for OSS maintainers to sustain their projects. The current concept is DevFlight. Right now I'm looking for open-source maintainers (preferably working on infrastructure projects) who are interested in partnering with me. If you're a maintainer/significant contributor and you'd like to chat, please send along your email via this signup form. General feedback in the comments section is also appreciated. Thanks so much!

I looked at your website and was a bit intrigued, but there wasn't enough info to make me think "I must sign up!"

I'm building BrisaBoards.com, which I don't think fits your target, but not sure, as it's not technical infrastructure. But I would definitely like to make it easy for users to install, and I would like to monetize it if I can build a product people want.

Andrew, thanks for the feedback! Your comments are spot on. I had this idea and whipped up a simple landing page to pair with my Startup School application to give the app reviewers more context. Because I got accepted before I could adequately validate that DevFlight addresses a burning market gap, I'm stepping back to do my due diligence now. My primary goal at the moment is partnering with a few project maintainers.

I have ideas reinforced by my initial research regarding what an MVP product looks like. I'll be creating a new site containing the product language. As a technical person, I'm always fighting the instinct to just begin building a product. IH has helped me curb this instinct. I'm doing the work of talking to potential customers and partners before expending resources to create any products.

BrisaBoards looks like a cool project! While you're correct in that it doesn't exactly fit my initial target project, I'd be happy to speak with you as I do see a monetization strategy if you plan on selling via cloud marketplaces. You can use the signup form and I'll shoot you an email separately if you're interested in chatting.

I think it might fill a gap. The interesting thing is I never would've thought about an Amazon marketplace as somewhere to publish the app. (Side note, OSS monetization keywords might be a good target)

I know what you mean about fighting the urge to just begin building a product, that describes everything I've worked on :)

I signed up. My project is too beta/rough to think about monetizing right now, but if it's helpful to you, I'd be happy to discuss with you as a potential customer!
