My Chrome Extension http://gif.com.ai is getting a huge amount of UN-installs every day. In fact 90% of the users who install UN-install. Non the less it's gaining +2 users a day because it's pretty popular as far as the offering. I just have no idea why people are continuing to UN-install this product. I'm asking you guys to put your beta tester hats on. After you install, what is your first and immediate gut reaction?
This would be so helpful!
screenshot of stats:
For my Chrome extension https://www.checkbot.io/, when you uninstall it opens a tab to a Google Form page that asks for feedback (see https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/runtime#method-setUninstallURL). Only a small number of people write anything but it might help you figure out why.
Also, remember that it might not be people uninstalling immediately after installing but people that installed a while ago.
Ah. Good idea. I'll have to try that.
I get this error message when I try to install it: Could not move extension directory into profile
As for the page itself, could be clearer in my opinion, certainly this: "do much, much more ..", needs quantifying. No need to list all that it can do, 3 - 5 of the wow things will do.
Wow. Does this happen just for this extension or all of them?
First time I have come across any error when installing a chrome extension. I installed another one after attempting to install yours, just to check, had no problems.
BTW, do you have Adblock? Though it's not connecting to any Ad networks so it would be very odd for this to be a factor.
Yes, I do have Adblock.
Very eye opening. Thanks. Seems that this is a very esoteric error. This has to be the problem. Because 90% is not normal. It would have had over 200 installs by now :(
I have same charts in my extension - http://handonboard.com: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vfspj0kmiuw6vt9/Zrzut ekranu 2018-09-20 23.46.45.png?dl=0
Something strange is going on here and I think we may have stumbled into it with our Chrome Extensions.

Does this have something to do with Microsoft flagging Chrome as malware and denying folder access permissions?
It looks like the install page sells strongly, but people aren't finding what they wanted in the product.
My 2nd guess is that people are installing to try it out out of curiosity.
