Hi all,
Thought I'd do a simple post sharing some Betalist results with you all. I submitted my SaaS tool as a post-launch submission. I had already used a pre-launch Betalist submission last year.
I paid USD$129 for a quick submission, I didn't want to wait for a month or two to be included.
127 users visited my website
1.37% bounce rate (probably the best I've ever seen)
Average time spent on site 2 min 15 seconds (good!)
US, India, and UK made up top 3 countries visiting my site.
13 checkout views
Six 14-day free trials started (with credit card information. Half from US, two from India, and one from Brazil)
USD$300 increase in MRR if they stay on as customers
Not a bad result. I'd do it again if I could.
What would I do differently?
I should be offering a free account option, to get more trials, and people I can upsell too. I might have added 100 people to my database if I offered this.
I'd promote my Betalist listing on Twitter and other channels, to get some likes and comments on my submission to build social proof.
I'd have a better image made. I just used a screenshot of the product (you can see the listing here https://betalist.com/startups/pulseproduct )
I'd consider a discount for Betalist users
Happy to answer any questions.

What is your typical conversion rate?
This. It's highly unlikely you'll have a 100% conversion rate, especially from BetaList users. In my experience, Product Hunt/BetaList conversion rate is almost always near zero.
It was credit card upfront so bound to > 0% conversion rate.
No way I'll get a 100% conversion rate from trial to paid, but I'm confident 25% - 40% will stay on for a period of time after the trial. I could update this thread next week with the actual number.
Thank you for sharing. Short and useful!
Looks like your Betalist launch went quite well!
It definitely helped me when I tried it for a quick side project.
Thanks for sharing! Would you say the quick submission was worth it?
It worked out $21.50 for sign up with credit card information entered. So even if they don't convert, I've got 6 engaged people I can ask:
Why did they sign up
Why did they cancel
How can I make the tool better
What should I emphasize more on the landing page
What shortfalls do you see in my competitors
So yeah, I'd say it was worth it, however USD$129 wasn't a big deal to spend, so if I was tighter on money then I'd probably submit to Betalist for free, then work hard on the product until they publish it.
Good to hear!
I had a really good result from Betalist too. And this was when my landing page looked appalling compared to how it is now.
I wish I could re-submit it!
Wow that landing page looks 🔥
Thanks! :)
