$40,000 *grant* (not investment) for startups

You have to move to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the five month program and have some mentoring duties, but from my research this looks like a good deal.

Do any IndieHackers have experience with this program or the inside scoop? I'm concerned that it seems too good to be true.

Hi! I'm Outreach Manager at Parallel18. If you want, we can have a call to answer all your questions. It may seem too good to be true, but there's no catch. We do ask that you give back to the local community by mentoring students and serving as a speaker at colleges and entrepreneurial events. And it's a very competitive program, so less than 10% of applicants are accepted. If you want to talk more about the program and the application process, I'm happy to do so!

Thank you! Do you have any tips for making your application more competitive?
