Do you sell online courses? [New free resource]

3

I just created/launched CourseList: a free directory for online courses. It lets folks review and rate them too, to add some social proof. Course creators can submit their own courses too.

Nerd Note: I created this in 2 days, with almost no programming: it's a WordPress site, running on RestrictContentPro and connected to MailChimp.

What's the draw here? Why should a course creator submit their course to your site at this point?

Great question—it's currently small, but as I grow it (hopefully), it can be a resource for folks looking to take a course on a subject but not knowing which specific course to take. So they can, say, "look at design courses" and find the best one to suit their needs or read reviews. That's the goal at least. A few times I wanted to find a directory of online courses and couldn't, so I built one.

Nice! Have you found that it's been more challenging to get people to submit courses, or to get traffic? Whichever it is, I encourage you to post a thread asking for feedback if you'd like some. Specifically, it'd be cool to see if people from the community can come up with some creative ideas to help you out.

Ask me that again in a month :) So far the site has ranked #3 on PH and done well with traffic from BetaList. But my guess is that now that it's launched, getting big sites like that will be harder since it's already "launched". Course submissions are fairly steady so far. And yeah, that's a great idea to ask IH for ideas :)
