Rejected from YC Startup School?

My startup, Dependabot, just got rejected. We've been growing ~25% month-on-month since launch, now have $6k MRR and over 2,000 active users, and have me working on it full-time (as well as another co-founder part-time).

I bet there are a lot of great companies out there that Startup School just missed out on. Let's keep building something great.

----

UPDATE: This is embarrassing, but I've just been told that Dependabot was one of the companies YC rejected in error. We've actually been accepted.

I'm delighted to be doing the programme, but I stand by what I said above. If you were one of the unlucky ones don't let it get you down.

In your position you likely don't need "startup school". I wouldn't over think it.

Thanks Matthew. I'd been looking forward to having others to learn from, but I'm pretty confident that Dependabot is going to be OK.

I agree. It's only up from here for you. You're off to an awesome start, focus on that. You don't need YC's approval. You can probably get a quick response from one of them anyway by keeping it brief and emailing them.

Their response will be equally brief, but that's because it's usually straight to the point. Which is what you want anyway :)

Maybe consider visiting some startup hubs then? They usually have meetups of some kind quite often and also some classes and workshops. Great way to meet new people.

Got accepted :) for mysocialapp.io. Courses are starting next week.

If any of you'll need help finishing the courses for a shot at the $10k, please ping. I'll anyway audit the course but I'd love to be a part of the community.

You need to be charging more for Dependabot, Grey. Think about the developer hours and overhead you're saving, $15 is a joke. At the very least you should have an Enterprise plan at $xxx/month.

I feel you man, I'd rather have 6k MRR than YCSC place tbh with you. We got rejected, then accepted. Good luck!

Got accepted then rejected; to be fair, I don't even have a landing page for my product (it's still an idea that needs to go through a customer discovery phase).

    You may still be accepted.

I got accepeted and then rejected due to bug in their acceptance system. lol

Sorry to hear that @SS88. What are you building?
