SaaS boilerplate free version - need your opinion!

Hello indiehackers,

I'm so thrilled to announce that the first version of SaaS Idea is now accessible for download. It can be found on Github https://github.com/SaaS-Idea/saas-boilerplate or through a direct link https://github.com/SaaS-Idea/saas-boilerplate/archive/master.zip

What will you have after installation and running?

Mini-SaaS with a web interface and user authentication (registration, email confirmation, login, logout). Plus fully-established project including webpack and Flask configuration.

Using this boilerplate can save you at least one week of work.

To choose the next 3 features to work on I've created a survey https://goo.gl/forms/kpW6ohx56j2zPRLv2 . Please fill it up if you want to influence the development process.

The documentation is accessible also on Github.

I also would like to explain why I started this project. I've been looking for a good idea for many years. I started so many projects that I just lost count. Suddenly I realized that most of them (99% including corporate jobs) were about some kind of SaaS. And what annoyed me every time was the SaaS infrastructure. Web interface, user authentication, error handling, project configuration - all this stuff is interesting per se but not when you do it every single time (even a little bit differently). And then I thought - maybe it can be a product itself. Huh, why not?

Now, the next question - why Python?

It was not love at first sight. Python looked so-so to me when I started learning it but I found that 95% of scientific and ML apps (what I'm interested in too) are written in this language. Also, I found Python has a very low threshold and doesn't require a lot of experience and knowledge to start. So it thought it could be a perfect choice. And yes, Flask is easier to understand and use than Node.js, even Express.

So I'm looking forward to hearing some opinion on the product, landing page, and any other related stuff.

Thanks a lot!

    Hello @Zencentric.

I can't download and install it, beyond me. I can however take a look at it. Have you got an installed version I can check, preferably with a demo account on it?

I'll fill the survey out once I check the platform out, ditto landing page and stuff.

For now though, which audiences are you aiming for?

    Cheers, Ace.

      Hi Ace,

      thanks for your interest.

I'm preparing the demo, it will be published online soon. If you are not subscribed, please do on the site www.saas-idea.com to know when the demo is available.

But for now, screenshots are available and can be found on Github page.

The audience is: indiehackers, startup founders, any companies that would like to create their own SaaS but don't want to spend time and money for development of routine stuff like interface, the project structure, user authentication etc. So, for example if you have a SaaS idea and you are not a developer, you would hire a developer that would create a code ONLY for your idea not for infrastructure that we provide. And these 2 parts can be integrated seamlessly.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate, ask here, or by email.

      Thanks

You are welcome pertaining to my interest.

I have subscribed to stay in the loop.

I did check the Github page and attached images before I posted my initial message, which is why I know I can't install it, haha.

Audience information: noted, thank you for answering my question.

I shall continue the conversation via email.

        Cheers, Ace.
