Hi all,
A while ago, I pitched the idea of BackendLab, which allows you to create a web app backend, with a relational DB, without writing a single line of code.
I'm pleased to announce that the public beta of BackendLab is now available. I'm currently just trying to get some feedback on the app, so am offering free for life access to the standard tier for anybody signing up for the public beta:
Looking forward to hearing everybody's thoughts!
Thanks,
Chris
Hi @christopherdavies!
The idea looks amazing!
I would recommend to you to display some illustration on how your builder works (some interface screenshot / mockup) to increase sign up rates.
I'm signing up as a beta tester to check it out!
Thanks Omar. I'm actually planning on creating a product video over the next few days and putting it on the landing page so people can see more clearly what it does.
I just signed up. Could you provide me with access?
Very curious to check it out!
Hi Omar, looks like there is a bug in the contact for on the home page. Can you just sign up for a free account and I'll upgrade you from my side? Thanks
I just did. my email is @omneity
Thanks a lot!
Good job 👏
Comments: needs some love on mobile responsiveness
Yeah I know, going to work on that tomorrow
Interesting. Where do users put the domain/logic, everything in the frontend ?
Hi Martin,
The domain is auto assigned - When you create an account, you are issued with a unique hash id which is the root path to your endpoints, e.g. https://api.backendlab.app/my-hash-id/
All the logic is in the front end - no coding required at all.
Thanks,
Chris
I am new here so i see this project first time. It is simple and awesome. I going to register and check how it works.
Thanks Michael, looking forward to some feedback!
Where should i report bugs? There is some...
We're using GitLab - you can email issues to incoming+backendlab/public-beta@incoming.gitlab.com
I'll add you to the beta program now so you get the full instructions.
This looks awesome! What will the pricing be after beta? I'm interested but don't have a project at the moment.
Also: is there a limit to the number of records (or the amount of fields per record) that can be stored?
Hi Maarten,
Pricing after the beta is still TBC, but likely to be in the region of £10 per month (with a discount if billed annually). However, if you sign up as a Beta tester, it will be free for life.
There is no limit to the number of records - the only limit is the number of requests to the endpoints you create. The standard tier (available to Beta testers) allows up to 50k requests per month, with the option to purchase additional blocks of 10k monthly requests as required
Thanks,
Chris
