Show IH: Create web apps in your browser without code

Hey guys —

Thanks so much for all the feedback, and all of you who've been patient alpha testers. We're now finally launching Stacker to the public.

Background: I've been working on this for about a year. I had been building platforms for several marketplace-type startups in a row, I realised that I was literally just reimplementing the same easy stuff again and again. So I quit, and built this so that the founders/product team could build whole features without needing to call me.

So apps we've got running live so far include a social network, a platform business, a fact-checking portal, a crowdfunding site, and a load of small side-projects.

It's been an exhausting year, but I'm excited (and still Indie!), and I can't wait to see what you guys make with this

    Codeless web development is a great idea. It is quite interesting. I have one doubt, Will your web apps be cross-browser compatible?

  2. 1

    Looks like an interesting project Michael, wishing you the best!

    Nice work. I'm curious to try this for a couple personal projects.

    Some feedback on the landing page:

    The headline "The new way to build for the web" doesn't hook me personally. Everything is new. Is this the fastest new way? Is it the easiest new way? What am I building? Is it for developers or people who don't know how to code or people who want a free way to no-code or agencies?

    //

    "See what you can build with Stacker" doesn't actually tell/show me what I can do. KISS - keep it simpler (or stupider).

    Can I build a marketplace like AirBnB? Can I build a CRM?

    The video is really nice, as is the manifesto.

    //

    Perhaps a comparison or analogy would make it easier for me to see why I'd want to use Stacker rather than something like Airtable or Tadabase or whatever.

    //

    That's my feedback. Some of those current headlines/benefits might resonate better with others. If I'm wrong here I hope someone can offer better feedback.

    By the way, would love feedback on product/landing page from you guys. any questions, let me know
