Hey folks,
We just launched our landing page! https://dinnertable.chat
I've been a long time stalker of Indie Hackers and finally got inspired to work fulltime building my own social impact startup. Over the last 10-12 months, I've developed this idea for a debate platform that aims to create an playful yet intimate environment to share your views across the political divide (that continues to grow wider) to allow people grow wider perspectives. We're also rather close to having a limited beta available, but for now, I wanted to release the splash page early to gather feedback.
My biggest questions are:
How interested are people to engage with their political opposites, given the right environment? Is there a big enough crowd to be able to cover costs?
Will people's first impressions of the landing page be positive/optimistic?
How do I solve the cold-start problem to ensure there are always people that can find a live partner to debate with?
How should I market this kind of platform? Google/FB Ads? Reddit? etc
Currently I'm self funded, what stage should I seek an investor (if at all)?
Any feedback would be appreciated... this is literally my hopes and dreams to make this project work and hopefully provide a benefit to society.
