Hello everyone,
It is actually my first time posting here. :)
I always like to work on a little weekend project. I have already done around 6 of them. This time, I wanted to make something I could easily share with friends when mentioning Twitter to them. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of them are not using it still. I can now just send them the link and they can see a list of interesting Twitter users and can filter it by category.
The entire site is made and managed from a spreadsheet only, which is really neat and a big time saver.
Since https://FollowFriday.io was available, I went ahead and purchased that domain for now. I plan to add additional users on a weekly basis and likely have a category for 'Recently Added' as well.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
I am not necessarily a big fan of the word 'FollowFriday'. If you have better suggestions, I'd love to hear it!
Can you think of any accounts you think I should add?
Thank you very much, I hope you will find this interesting or better yet, useful.
Add a brief description of why I should follow them? Without it it's a lot of back and forth to read bios, if they're even complete/accurate.
Thank you for your feedback Craig, I completely agree.
This is just a quick side project so I have not had the time to put a lot of details into it. I definitely plan to have a 2.0 version that has this option.
From your perspective, do you think it should be sub-pages or a one liner on the top of the profile picture?
Are you using the Twitter API or is this all just coming from a spreadsheet? If using the API - maybe you can get the bios just to get a little more information about each person
Thank you for getting involved Kevin, It is currently with a spreadsheet. I try to keep side projects very simple at first and based on everyone's feedback I try to see if its worth a 2nd version and which feature would be the most useful.
An API for the bios seems like the best way to go. The API could help with quite a few others things as well.
Nice work Guillaume! I'm amazed to be on the list! Thanks!
As others comments, for the 2.0 version you could add more info & maybe signing with Twitter in order to see only the ones that I don't follow already...
P.S: If you're looking for more feedback, at roastMe would love to help you with it! The URL: https://roastme.xyz
Happy to have you on the list JP! :)
That's actually a really clever idea I didn't exactly think of (removing the ones they already follow). I will definitely keep that in mind.
Roastme seems interesting, I just saved it to check it out later.
Woah thanks for including me @GuillaumeBardet will share on Twitter!
Of course Ben, I've been paying attention to your work from afar haha. Loving what you've done so far and I'm wishing you the best with Newco! :) I noticed you already shared it, thank you very much for doing so!
I love curated ideas btw. I think the next wave of social media will be something around this. Right now we are exepriencing a bit too much choice overload. Smaller/filtered communities are the future, and having them curated based on your interests is really smart.
I also run a curated site for Craigslist apts. Just launched the landing page, it’s also a sharebale spreadsheet..feel free to check it out and reply any feedback!!

I think you should add AI as category!
i was not using twitter untill now, but now i know whom to follow thanks.
Why don't you use "List" Feature of Twitter & make all your lists of various categories (Saas, Founders etc) public. It's the simplest solution rather than creating a website for it unless u want to monetise it. It will save a lot of time forr u & everyone. It's pretty fast as i have my own lists (for my specific requirements)
I considered making a list for every category, I will likely do that in the near future. For now, I made one for the entire list:

Thanks much @GuillaumeBardet thanks for including me.Sharing on my TL straight away !
You're very welcome! :) I hope contentiskey is going well. Thank you for sharing it, it is much appreciated!
As someone who just (reluctantly lol)made my first Twitter account today, this is pretty cool!
As for some name suggestions, maybe:
'Who2Follow' (This name could also work if you ever decide to expand it to "who2follow on all social platforms like insta, snap etc.)
'TweetFollow'
'FollowFamily' or 'FollowFam' lol
I'm glad you found it interesting.
Thank you for these suggestions, Who2Follow could be quite interesting actually!
I was thinking about doing the same thing for Instagram. Dammit! LOL!!! Obviously this is a great idea and will definitely help people out. One little feature I think that might help is to start our by catagorizing them by specialty or industry like fitness, entrepreneurship, crypto, etc. That way they're not overwhelmed with all of the pics you got. Keep up the work. I can see this as being a starting point for someone who's new to Twitter.....or IG (wink wink).
Niche categorization for Twitter. I started building a product that did exactly this a few years ago. With a great name which I won't give up. I forgot why I gave up on the idea though. I think I gave up because I saw such little utilitarian use of the lists feature which is basically this within Twitter.
Thank you for getting involved Vez. Haha yeah IG was on my mind as well, I just personally wanted to start with Twitter first.
Do you mean having the home page just listing categories below the header?
I really like your idea. I would change the page a bit. As expressed in another comment here, it would be nice to see a reason why should I follow them. If you want to automate that for now (instead of editing those yourself / pulling form the submission form), you could just fill in with the Twitter bio. I wanted to observe that I'm much more interested in their bios than profile pictures (honestly, I don't even care how they like). So I think you could structure a page as a more tight list in the following form.
[ much smaller profile pic ] [ @twitter handle ] [ much wider space for bio, maybe even trimmed at some length ]
HTH & good luck. Really like it :)!
Hello Michal, thank you for your feedback!
That's a pretty valid point regarding the profile pictures. I am a big visual person, I often remember how a profile picture looked so by seeing it again in a list like this I'd be more likely to open it. I am hoping this will be the case for others as well.
Regarding the bio, that's been my issue. Finding the proper data possibly with a way to automate it so that the site doesn't get too outdated. I'll definitely find a way to show the bio in the 2.0 version.
Thank you again for your detailed feedback :)
This is a brilliant idea. Can help a lot of new twitter users and start-up founders to build a great network.
In addition to the profile name and picture, if you can add in a one liner introduction of them, it will be great!
Hello Pankaj, thank you for your kind feedback! :)
That's exactly the goal, surprisingly a high percentage of the people I know don't know much about Twitter and some of the great active users it has.
That's definitely been the most requested feature, I am trying to find the best way to make this work. I have a few solutions in mind!
