Hey IH 👋,
I've built Lanes (https://lanes.io) as a way to superpower your productivity.
There's a zillion task managers out there, but many feel like working a data-entry job. Lanes is designed to be a delight to open by focusing on your goals and not simply checking items off a list, and by allowing you to personalize the app to match your style of doing.
So custom backgrounds, detailed productivity analytics, a pomodoro timer, plus a leaderboard so you can see how productive your friends (any everybody on Lanes) are.
Would be great to hear your first impressions.
Arigato 🙏
Hi Mike!
Good job working on the idea. Liked the customizable and feature-rich to-do functionality.
I'd suggest you and everyone interested to check out Y-Productive:

We're working on a similar goal: to combine tasks with a productivity feedback. Same as you, we think it provides a necessary context to understand what's going on with your workflow. However, the app itself is more intuitive and the approach to measure productivity is completely different. The feedback is based on apps and websites you use in your workflow, and whether they are productive for you or not.
That's the thing I think you could improve in Lanes: a lot of functionality, while being feature-reach, is not easy to grasp from the start. I lost the task, moving it between lists - it ended up displayed as "1 task for today", but I have no idea how to view it.
Also, what's your productivity feedback is based on? If it's just people checking off tasks (and the number of tasks done), it might be not fair to compare one person to another - as "task", it's importance, and difficulty to complete are very different.
Great job with the option to add articles and videos though. Really like it! Wish I could set the video as a task, not the "item".
Great app! I use google keep to achieve this and I think your application can be a great replacement.
Here's some minor feedback on the webapp:
I loved the "weekplanner" and "daily journal" view and the fact that we can organise the task per days, very useful feature.
Adding a task is great but I would like to be able to delete the task in less clicks as well and
Pomodoro is an awesome feature. I use it a lot and having it integrated with your tasks app could be nice but I didn't liked where the bar is place. The timer is too small and wrongly placed for me.
Something you can work on further is the UX. I use google keep only for its simplicity.
Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback!
Yep I may replace the 'confirm delete' with an 'undo' button as less cumbersome
If you go to 'overview' you have a larger timer (it will automatically switch) but points noted
Appreciate you taking the time.
Opened your landing page on MacBook Pro. 10 seconds later the MBP is spinning fans. Checked Activity Monitor, your landing page caused almost 400% sustained CPU usage. Definitely something to address. Imagine how this affects battery on mobile. HTH :)
Edit: OX S 10.11.6, Chrome 68
Edit2: It's the balls. Removed them, high CPU usage gone.
At the bottom, you have
I want to know what Lanes Plus is, but it's just text. Should probably link to a feature list page or sth :)
Yikes, definitely not the best first impression. I'll optimize this.
Cheers Michał.
Looks nice! Similar to one of my ideas which got me motived to finish it, thanks!
When visiting the site on mobile I wasn't about able to scroll down properly because those bouncing ball things (which don't help convey the value proposition) swallowed the event.
This is on my #tofix list today. Ty
Hi, looks like a neat idea, but when i access your site on a mobile i couldnt locate the login option. The web version is fine though.
Thanks for taking the time. Fixing this now.

A leaderboard is simply a fun way to see how much you're getting accomplished compared to friends - and a way to keep each other accountable.
Plus it creates a feeling of working together, instead of hustling away alone.
Viperchill has a great post on this: http://www.viperchill.com/simple-productivity-tool/
