Show IH: Stori - Analyze the performance of your Instagram Stories

Hey there!

I'm Francesco, and in the last months I created Stori.

Right now it's really difficult to view insights from Instagram Stories and save all stories (both video/photo and insights) for social media reports.

Stori simplifies accessing these data and also sharing them with who you want, like colleagues, Clients or Brands that currently are sponsoring your

Let me know if you have any feedback or any question, I'm here to answer! 🙋‍♂️

    Looks good. 👍

I personally don't use Instagram, but here are a few thoughts.

    • It's a bit pink. Have you checked if this creates a problem for male Instagram influencers?

    • Main title and subtitle "We heard you like stories. - You are in the right place." doesn't say much.

    • A lot of the impact that your app delivers is hidden behind a single title: "Analyze your Stories - View every Story’s impressions, users reached, taps forward and much more. We will help you get the most from it." I feel like this contains more value than a single feature like "Backup" or "Invite your friends/colleagues", yet it's so easy to overlook if I don't read the details closely.

    • Typo in your pricing table: "Backup only last 7 day" - should be "Backups only last 7 days".

    • Your registration form allows "Connect with Facebook", but no Instagram. Does Instagram not have an API for this?

      hi @Skullclown !

      1. Yes, it's really pink. But this doesn't seem to be a problem with our main customers and the people that leave feedback after they use it.

2-3. I could think something more meaningful for the title and for the other texts, you are right. As always the homepage was prototyped in less than a day and then never changed (there's always something more urgent). I think it's time to rethink the text.

      1. Thanks! I'll fix it soon.

      2. No, Instagram doesn't permit to get Stories' data from their API. Also, Instagram's API are deprecating and all the new features are relased only on Facebook Graph API. This limitation or their APIs doesn't permit to 'normal' Instagram users to use Stori but only Business users that can access via Facebook (that are the main target of Stori)

      Thank for your time!

No worries, there's no need to explain yourself! It was good.

No, Instagram doesn't permit to get Stories' data from their API.

Too bad, that would've been useful and increased your target market.

        Good luck!

    Great idea!

I'll check it out and already forwarded it to my full-time job's social media people.

Question. How dependant are you on Instagram changing the way they show stories or alter anything on that feature? Also going forward.

    1. 1

      Thanks @JulianSamarjiev !

All data are taken from Facebook Graph APIs, the official APIs of Instagram now that the 'classic' APIs are deprecated. The main features and insights will always be present and stored inside Stori, but if they add some new insights (or type of story, for example) I will need to wait FB/IG to update the APIs too. This normally happens for big releases, but sometimes they don't release a new version for little changes or 'test' features.

The only other way to do this is by using 'unofficial' (private) APIs, but:

      • they requires the user to share username/password with the app, and this is really bad for security and privacy

      • (obviously) IG is against this, and they will ban you (and sometimes the user too) if they find out.

      1. 1

Sounds good, the API should be a stable enough data anchor 👍

There are some story analytics/stats on Instagram itself, what additional functionality do you guys have?

        1. 2

Here are some reasons to use Stori:

          • Right now the Instagram Stats are only inside the Instagram App, they aren't available on web/desktop. This is a huge problem if you need to do some reports (like PPT presentations, ect) on your Instagram activity;

          • From the Instagram app there isn't a way to export or bulk download media/insights: Stori permits to download all the photos/videos of your stories and also generates a CSV files with all the insights 📈

          • You can't share the data from the Instagram app in a easy way: normally the more common way to show your stories insights to someone else is via a screenshot... but this is madness and a waste of time if you need to share 10+ photos :) Also, the only way to share the account insights is sharing the username/password. With Stori you can share all your stories with other collaborators (or with brands) and/or also create collections of stories and share them with a simple URL 🚀

Let me know if you have some other questions 🙋‍♂️

          1. 2

            Solid reasons!

I'll keep them in mind 😉

            Good job 👍

A demo or the screenshot of the dashboard on the landing page will definitely help

@ktkaushik , here is a long medium article that explains everything and has some images/gifs of the UI:

Nice article but you still need the images on the home page. Visitors are not going to look at the medium article from your home page

        1. 1

Ok sorry, I misread your comment. I'll definitely add some images in the next version.

          Thanks!

The UI is simple and eye-catching.

Seems like there is no validation on the client-side on https://stori.social/forgot

Say, I type any non-email format text, following pop-ups appear:

There was a problem connecting to the server.

You will receive an email with all password instructions

      I'll check this. Thank you @onar ! 🙌

Hi there! I've been building an Instagram supplementary app as well. I needed some advice on the Facebook review process. Is there an email or something I can get in touch with you through?

Yeah sure! write me on hello[at]stori.social
