I’d really appreciate feedback on my landing page.
Conversions to trials on this page have dropped off from almost 2% to less than 1% and I don’t know why.
Would love to know what people think. Am I missing something obvious?

Hey! I would say that the first 'fold' is too busy, there are a lot of things competing for the users eye, none of them more prominent than the other.
I would simplify your tagline to fewer words, something like: Gaggle Mail: Group Email, Simplified.
I'd then have your form as a single button beneath the tagline (create a group now), and have the form open as an overlay. Again, just to simplify things visually and make it less distracting.
Then I would replace the background image with something less busy, and/or I would put the testimonials later down the page. The social proof is great, but it's quite distracting visually here.
Hope this helps!

Hi Dani,
Really appreciate the feedback - some good points.
Will definitely look at making the page more focused.
There is a lot of white space in the first fold. maybe shorten the distance between the 'hero' & the testimonials.
There's a lot of scrolling before I start getting told why I want/need this.

Did you implement any changes just before you noticed the drop in conversion? Any changes in design, copy or traffic sources? Did the drop happen both on mobile and desktop? I'd look into this first.

Hi Simon, couple of questions:
What's the time frame you're talking about? e.g. month vs month, 6 months vs 6 months
Have you, or anyone else, made any changes in that time? i.e. copy change, images or even the infrastructure behind the website
Have the sources of traffic changed in that time? i.e. search, ads or direct
Also how many people are we talking about? Depending the number it may just be luck.

The drop in conversions is just over the last two weeks and the numbers aren't massive (3 new trials per day rather than 6).
It could just be luck so I'm trying not to worry but I still can't help checking the stats every hour hoping for an up-tick ;)
I have made changes but I've been A/B testing against the old version of the homepage and the old version is also getting a drop in conversions.
