Thought some might be interested to see what kind of traffic you can expect from PH. OneUp finished #4 for the day on Wednesday: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/oneup-2-0
From Wednesday until right now (Friday at 10:40am EST), we have received:
443 Upvotes on PH
1,273 new visitors to the site
55 signups, many of which seem like they could convert to paying customers based on usage
Featured in Thursday's PH daily newsletter
We offer a 7-day free trial, so we wont know how many convert to paying customers for a few more days.
From my experience, you will consistently receive a trickle of traffic from PH long after a successful PH launch. Also, the positive feedback and responses on PH gives us some nice social proof.
So was it worth the effort? I'd say 100% yes :)
How does one launch on ProductHunt?
I’ve not tried it yet as I’d assumed without a posse of supporters it would just be tumbleweed.
If you have a cool product, it will probably be worth it. I would suggest reading PH's official guide to get started: https://blog.producthunt.com/how-to-launch-on-product-hunt-7c1843e06399
Thanks, will check it out, just wonder whether my product is too niche for PH
Well done, thanks for sharing, will be interesting to see the conversion rate.
Thanks James!
Hi Davis -- can you do a write up on how you were able to have success in getting on product hunt?
This should help :)

Your website is down!
Should be working fine now :)
Well done! And thanks for the insights. We're launching our first PH next Tuesday, and I'm struggling setting goals and expectations.
Thanks Jamie :)
Thanks for sharing, man. Did you do anything special prelaunch to support the success or awareness? Any tactics to how you presented the product you think may have played a factor in it too? Of course, at the end of the day, a good product will/should be the biggest contributor.
Congrats man, well deserved!
Thanks Bart 😊
Great job Davis,
I guess you already know, but Laura Roeder of MeetEdgar (there was a podcast a while back with her) is in similar niche as yours, might help to draw some insights.
Would be nice if you could give a brief rundown on what went into making PH launch a success preparation wise. Of course, given time.
Thanks! Yep, certainly aware of Laura and MeetEdgar :) I wrote a OneUp vs MeetEdgar comparison: https://medium.com/@davis1/meet-edgar-alternatives-f5df04de315?source=linkShare-1d1a20b08c6-1536409440
I think one of the keys was answering FAQs in my main post so people fully understood how it worked. Also, using short GIFs and not long videos definitely helped.
Great thinking-ahead!
Just read the article and I see where your angle at auto re-sharing is: Double down on core functionality-> More social networks (personally think Pinterest integration is a great call) at lower entry points. Great one!
Thanks DV8 😊
Nice one Davis. Now keep on hustling.
Thanks Lee 🤓 That's the plan!!!
Thanks for sharing and being transparent. Helps other IH'ers (like myself) think ahead to what a Product Hunt launch can do.
Cheers!
Jonathan
Happy to help 😁
Congrats @DavisBaer on the launch !
These are excellent metrics. You've inspired me to write my own post on traffic analysis. I launched my product TrafficTicker on PH yesterday - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/trafficticker
So far, i've gotten 280 signups. I offer no trial period but i am hoping my product helps more individuals and brands enough to upgrade in the future !
Ended up #3 Product of the day on PH.
Congrats! Just gave you an upvote :)
How many visitors have you seen?
Thanks. Upvoted OneUp too. Me likey
I saw 1229 visitors.
Interesting! Maybe ~1200 is the average
Yeah I think so. @ddoyon Readwise was #2 Product of the day. Could you please share add your thoughts here?
I am a bit surprised by the number of visitors. Would’ve expect it to be higher. Did you conclude the same?
Maybe... but I think a lot of it depends on if people need to visit your site to fully understand the product.
With OneUp, I had a pretty lengthy intro post explaining everything, and the GIFs we used provided a pretty simple way to understand how it works, so that may have been a reason for lower traffic.
It would be sweet if PH showed you how many people visited you PH listing!
really? I feel like "schedule and automatically recycle your evergreen social media posts" is nearly as clear a pitch as you could ask for. What more is there to understand outside of that?
Yeah, makes sense. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Thanks for sharing Davis. Always facinating to see some number from a PH launch. I guess next Wed you will know that conversion rate when the trail ends?
What’s next on the roadmap? Optimise the sales funnel for growth or listen to the current users and continue to build the platform out.
In the short-term, we will talk to our users and observe how they use OneUp, probably making some minor improvements along the way based on feedback.
After, we plan on setting aside some $ to experiment with paid ads.
