Transactional email services: any recommendations?

Email notifications are vital for www.siteguru.co. I'm currently using Amazon SES to send them, but I miss important insights into opening rates, bouces, etc.

Services like Mailchimp don't work for me either, because the content of the email and the triggers for sending them are very customized.

Postmarkapp.com seems to do what I need. Anyone who tried them? Or any other similar services you would suggest?

I've been using https://www.sparkpost.com, they have a pretty generous free tier you can use to try them out.

Unfortunately, their free plan is no longer available. They keep it only for existing customers (on the free plan). Anyway, they're quite cheap on paid plans and really worth to try. Support everything you may need starting from great reporting to webhooks.

I'm pretty sure they the free tier is still available, they call it a "developer account", but you get full access to Spark Post with certain daily/monthly email limits.

You're right. A Few months ago I've received an email from them that they'll retire free account and keep it only for existing users. I didn't know they've added developer account. Thanks for the info.

Definitely 100% use Postmark, everything else is terrible in comparison.

      Thanks Adam!

We were using Mandrill before. It's definitely not "great" and MailChimp is not doing a lot of work on it. I heard good things about SendGrid, but I've never actually used it.

If you don't want to re-code anything, there's always https://sesmetric.com Otherwise Postmark/Sparkpost/Sendgrid will all do the job well.

Nice, I've been looking for something like that. I'm going with Postmark for now. Easy setup, and cheaper than sesmetric.

2nd for SendGrid - reliable, easy to develop for and their support is great.
