02 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

03 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

Optional:

04 Comment on at least one fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in.

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments!

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

  1. 3

    EPIC:

    By end of November, launch.

    YESTERDAY

    App

    • ✓ Fix Stripe webhooks. (Finally!)

    • ✓ Started refactor to surface errors in front end.

    • ✓ Take @mauij's Drive My Dev widget a spin. (It's fab!)

    Marketing Site

    • ✓ Provide feedback to illustrator.

    Community Building

    • ✓ Follow up emails sent to conventions.

    • ✓ Promote current blog post. (Up to 923 claps!)

    • Determine where else to syndicate my post.

    • Create outline for next post.

    TODAY

    App

    • Start refactor for locations.

    Marketing Site

    • Provide feedback to illustrator.

    Community Building

    • Determine where else to syndicate my post.

    • Create outline for next post.

    KUDOS: Pending others joining in.

    WORK IN PROGRESS: https://happyendin.gs/

    1. 2

Are you looking to give a talk at a convention??

Also, I'll be curious how you plan to attack the location stuff - starting off with handful of cities?

      1. 2

Nope. (Smiling) Conventions are my "secret sauce" for traction. Similar to how Twitter solved the chicken/egg problem with SXSW. Only my SXSW are comic cons.

Technically or tactically? (I suspect tactically...) Handful of comic cons.

  2. 2

    EPIC:

Improve the chrome extension, improve onboarding.

    TODAY

    • Work on making readit private by default. Now readit will only summarize content that is "tagged" with #readit. Readit will automatically tag content that is whitelisted though (like techcrunch.com)

    • Add ability to add bookmarks directly from the site

    WORK IN PROGRESS: https://getreadit.com

  3. 2

    EPIC

    Build and launch.

    YESTERDAY

    • fought with lack of productivity due to drastic change in schedules

    • Worked more on new landing page

    • Meetings with new clients

    TODAY

    • Worked more on landing page, I think I have the direction I want to go

    • Wrote blog post about failure to launch in under a week (posted here on IH too)

    WORK IN PROGRESS

    My EPIC

It was a dark and stormy night..oh wait..this is IH..

It's snowing here , so it was a lazy today... I only..

    • Brought the Stripe LLC package for $ 500.00 Dollars

    • Talked with my new project manager about the U/X

    • Added new design concepts for the 3D shopping page

    • Studied European web traffic patterns

    1. 1

      (Laughing!)

      3D shopping page? Intrigued!

      1. 1

This is a script for 1 of my older concepts

        https://codepen.io/MidnightBandito/pen/jQWWEM

it was a virtual mall concept...the layout would have been something like this ...tap the 1st level in the graphics

        https://codepen.io/i-heart-php/pen/greQbY

I have been meaning to ask you harlem ,

will your site have a " kink " store , like Fetlife & Collarspace ?

        1. 1

Very cool! Can't wait to see how this translates into shopping!

And as to merchandise. Nope. (Smiling) MVP is a humble a dating app - kink optional!

  5. 2

    EPIC

    New product launch

    YESTERDAY

    Today

Should I start writing a blog?

    Working on this: https://formico.io

    1. 2

Depends upon your resources. And what social media parties you've already started. I'm a one chick show, so I picked one poison. No Twitter. No Facebook. No Instagram. No Youtube. Just blogging. I place quality over quantity every time.

If you've the bandwidth for qualitative posts... go for it!

      1. 2

Thanks for the advice Harlem 🖋 P.S. I Love Your Blog

        1. 1

          (Laughing!) Thanks!

  6. 2

    EPIC

Have the windows port of my product Vimalin done, so that it can go in beta.

    Yesterday

    • Studying the windows API for the network calls I need, looks like I found it, but more work as I had initially thought.

    TODAY

    • Checkup at the hospital (eye doctor, all good)

    • Play with Windows APIs

    Product

The macOS version of Vimalin is available at https://vimalin.com

  7. 2

Epic: Release version 1.0 of my iOS app, OctoNote

Yesterday: I responded to initial feedback and re-submitted my app to the App Store for review

Today: I'm going to be keeping an eagle-eye on iTunes Connect, and will pull in my product landing page changes on GitHub.

    1. 1

Congrats on submitting your app! Sneak peak of your landing page?

      1. 1

Thanks! Working on a full landing page, but for now, here's my app's landing page on our dev team's portfolio

  8. 2

    EPIC Get 100 beta signups

    Yesterday

    • Posted Newsbie to some beta sites. Feels superficial, but I'll take any eyeballs I can get

    • Set up a Facebook ad for Ashby. Need an image with less text according to FB.

    • started collecting emails of journalism/media professors to cold email about Newsbie

    Today

    • Make a version of my landing page with copy geared toward educators. Old version is just waaaay to broad a audience, it can't possibly be the perfect thing for anybody as currently presented

    Work In Progress

    1. 2

Look like you got a juicy amount of feedback for Ashby! What are your thoughts based on the reaction/sign ups?

      1. 1

My initial copy/language on my landing page was totally wrong. But once I had to defend it by answering questions, people came around and saw the value prop. So gotta totally redo the copy, add a bit more context/examples, and push that better landing page in Google/Facebook to see about signups
