Two weeks in - anyone here going through YC Startup School?

It's been two weeks since YC accepted everyone (including myself) and I'm struggling to find the value, over something like Indie Hackers, where I'd rather spend my time.
Anyone going through the lesson schedule too? What do you think of it so far?

I'm going through it and will admit, I've been underwhelmed.
I thought the forum would be great, but the default email notification settings for each thread have made it miserable so far!
However, with that said, the videos are great. Having office hours with a YC Advisor is awesome. And in general, I'm a big fan of what YC is trying to do through Startup School =)

I'm doing startup school. I think there is good advice in the video content. The accountability/goal setting in groups is great. I was looking forward to some of the new deals being promoted on the build up to this year but found they aren't as good as last year. I suspect some companies may have pulled their deals when YC made a mistake and then opened Startup School to 15k startups. Still a big fan of YC!

Howdy - would love to know what you are working on! I suspect you are in NYC based on your user name (I am too).
Assuming so, are you on NY YC SUS Slack group? If not, email me (jonathan@tribefive.me) and I'll invite you.
Good luck!
Jonathan

Similar feedback. I was pretty underwhelmed by the group call / session. I find the videos quite slow, and will probably just try to race through the transcripts.

Our video was super choppy as well! I hope they get that resolved soon.

I’m also on the course, and so far not much value. Hoping it gets better. The key benefit for me is the accountability and push to make tangible progress each week.

That is a very important part of the YC Core and YC SUS experience. Keep taking advantage of it!

Videos are great, though not better than the videos from previous launches.
Forum isn't as good as I expected. Found a lot of interesting products.
Progress reports and group calls are great: marginal increase in accountability is surprisingly valuable.

I think the videos are enjoyable albeit long. Had my first office hours with my group yesterday and that was fun just getting to know everyone in the group and hearing their stories.
Is it valuable? Eh.. I was able to bounce some thoughts about app pricing and got some good advice back. Also its just a good thing to have weekly check-ins with others and motivating. I'm going to stick with it and see how it pans out

@all - Is the content the same that can be audited? Also, what other benefits other than videos are there in this year's YC?

the videos are the same. The only other benefits are the "deals", but many are exactly the same you can have without startupschool, and the group for sharing ideas. Regarding the group it really depends, you can be lucky or not.. We are just 5, I hope in the next weeks they will merge with other groups.
I think the videos are great, but I don't see much "school" other than that.. we will see in the next weeks
