We just launched! Looking for feedback, input, and... a giveaway!

Hello Indie Hackers!

Being a designer who loves working within the startup scene, I know all too well that a tight budget is a large issue with many people. Far too often, individuals are unable to hire a designer to help them on one of their most important pages, their landing page. The place where a potential customer can be drawn in or pushed away within seconds.

So, I launched knvrt. knvrt is here to fill the gap between reading articles and hiring designers. We build a customised and detailed report aimed at optimising your landing page, no matter what your goal is. We explain why areas are not working, suggest alternatives to test out, examples and visualisations to help implement it and also follow up after a few months to see how things are going and suggest any alterations after the data has been gathered.

Anyway, with the longer than expected introduction out of the way, the reason I am posting... We want to help everyone, whether paying customers or one off visitors. To do this, we plan to write public case studies for others to read and take inspiration from. But, we need websites to write case studies about, so we offer a "lucky dip" service (https://knvrt.co/lucky-dip/) where we write a full landing page report for one lucky winner every 2-4 weeks.

However, to build up our list, celebrate our launch and hopefully get some feedback on our site, we are planning to do 5 case studies this month alone (and maybe more next month too) so, for a high chance to win and to check out what we offer, head over to the lucky dip page and sign up https://knvrt.co/lucky-dip/

Also, any and all feedback is welcome, one lesson we always push is, listening to feedback from visitors is the most important thing.

Thanks all, and glad to have finally launched!

Great website and a great initiative for sure!

One question though, what is the story about the domain? It is like impossible to remember and type in for casual visitor?!

    1. 2

      Thanks!

Yeah, I was worried about that. Essentially, I went with the "hip" way of making unique domains by changing a letter (Convert > Konvert) then removing the vowels (Konvert > knvrt).

So, its pronounced Convert but.. yeah. I can see some confusion and hopefully I can overcome it/it becomes memorable? 🤞

As feedback, seems that I need to submit the form before I see the pricing which leaves a bit of a bad taste, also some kind of demo would be nice.

    1. 1

      Hey, thanks for the feedback!

That is an interesting point, are you referring to the "Lucky Dip" page? Because, that page/service is totally free (as its a random giveaway) so maybe I need to highlight that?

Unless you are referring to another page? I totally did not mean to hide any pricing, but may just not have made it as obvious as it should be?

As for a demo, we are trying to get a bunch of free entries so we can write custom reports for them and also provide some public case studies to show exactly what users can expect for their own. So absolutely agree and working on it! (just need some free volunteers!) :D

      1. 1

I see now, review my site $150 ok, but initially I didn't found any prices anywhere, a bit pricey so I guess is not an automated tool, although is not clearly stated or maybe I missed it. Also could be just me, but the text seems a bit hard to read.

        1. 1

I actually went right back in after your comment and made it more obvious. The $150 was not in the navbar before, but your feedback prompted me to add it!

Oh, another good point! Nope, not an automated tool, we do each one 100% custom to each user per entry. How do you think it would be best to show we are not an automated tool, as I guess being 100% custom would be a. selling point?

Hard to read due to length, or just a bit light/thin on the light backgrounds?

          1. 2

both length and background but could be just me being tired, for me would be the main selling point to know is a manual/custom thing, in which case I would like to know a little why you're good at it, everything these days is some automated tool, lately AI tools, so you would assume that.

I read once a book "don't make me think", that showed pre-optimized then optimized than results. eg. conversions, feedback.

            1. 1

Ah ok, I shall look into the text issue! Thanks for bringing it up.

Yeah, I didn't really think about it but you ay be right, a non-automated service may be a nice USP for some. I shall have a look into that. I am hoping that case studies will show why I am good at it, but maybe I need to add in a. blurb or something as to why we are the best! ✊

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

how long did it take you to launch your site?

    1. 1

Erm... good question. I actually built this version of the site over the course of 2 weeks. However, I had this idea a year ago and worked on it on and off!

I struggle hard from "perfectionism" on anything I create for myself, I could of launched it a long time ago but wanted the wording, tone of voice etc to be perfect (or, near perfect!)

      1. 1

I totally understand. Good luck with this project

        1. 1

Thanks Pamela, if you ever have any questions or anything that we can help you with, don't hesitate!

          1. 1

I sure do- may i have your email?

            1. 1

Yup of course, hello@knvrt.co is probably best at the moment :)

  4. 2

    Cool initiative!

Sounds like a great idea, hope it works out!

Submitted my SaaS landing page :)

    1. 2

You did indeed! I appreciated it so much I sent you an email from myself personally thanking you! :)

I always do website analysis after posting it. And did same for your site. You can check out here and fix the issues.(not my site. not promoting. just helping you) http://tools.neilpatel.com/en/analyze/https%3A%2F%2Fknvrt.co%2Flucky-dip%2F

  6. 1

Wasn't sure what I would be getting by applying. Do you do it for everyone? Is there an example.

Those were all questions I had as feedback.

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback, yes this seems to be a repeat issue, so I am going to see if I can make it a little clearer what to expect (hopefully case studies will help with this, but ill see if I can make it more obvious on the home page too)

Also, yes, it seems that the fact I do it manually and custom for each entry is a USP that I did not think about before, so need to highlight that somewhere too.

Im going to work on making a more "direct" less fluff page and see how that goes! :)

Feedback: I'm not sure if your site is getting hammered, but it seems to be slow for me. If you didn't post to IH, I wouldn't have waited.

Your design is good. It's simple and it's professional at the same time. The value prop is also very clear.

    1. 1

Oh dear, I had not noticed it was going slow but it definitely has slowed down since my tests. I shall look into this over the weekend and see if I can speed it up! Thanks for the heads up! :) also thanks for the kind words :)
